Human sperm count dwindling, penis shrinking at alarming rate, scientist warns

Amid the many global problems we are facing today, one of humanity’s biggest issues comes relatively unnoticed: the decline in reproductive health, especially for males.

Specifically, the sperm count of males in the West has significantly decreased by 59% between 1973 and 2011 due to chemicals found in everyday items, a study co-authored by Dr. Shanna Swan in 2017 has found.

In the study, which has been making headlines around the globe, scientists noted that sperm count is of considerable public health importance for several reasons including the decline of male fertility and the rise of other health issues, such as testicular cancer.

“If you look at the curve on sperm count and project it forward—which is always risky—it reaches zero in 2045,” Swan said in her new book titled “Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race,” as cited by Axios on Feb. 24.

In the book, Swan also noted that aside from the decline in sperm count, penis size and testes volume have been decreasing among humans in the past few decades.

“The current state of reproductive affairs can’t continue much longer without threatening human survival,” Swan writes in the book.

Swan has since doubled down on her warning via Scientific American on March 16, where she co-wrote with Stacey Colino that the decline in reproductive health is happening to females as well.

They found that reproductive problems in males have been increasing by 1 percent every year, while the miscarriage rate for females in the United States is also increasing by 1 percent annually.

Swan and Colino noted that while 1 percent may not seem like a big number to the public, it actually is as this means a 10% increase every decade and a 50% increase in just 50 years.

This increase in reproductive health problems is faster than the rate of global warming, but the public has not been as vocal or informed regarding the issue, which threatens humanity’s existence.

Hormone-altering chemicals

This decline in reproductive health is largely due to the hormone-altering chemicals found in items found all around us: from plastic containers, food packaging, water bottles to electronic devices, pesticides and many others.

These items contain chemicals such as phthalates, bisphenol A and flame retardants, among others. It is no coincidence that the decline in reproductive health began in the mid-20th century when these items started being produced in large numbers, the researchers noted.

“Exposure to these chemicals is especially problematic during pregnancy because what happens during pregnancy doesn’t stay in pregnancy. Rather, an expectant mother’s exposure to toxic chemicals in the air she breathes, the water she drinks, the foods she eats and the products she slathers on her skin can enter her body (and hence the fetus) and influence her baby’s reproductive development,” Swan and Colino explained.

“This is particularly true early in pregnancy—in what’s called the reproductive programming window—and it’s especially true for male babies,” they added.

Among the many health issues, these chemicals’ effect on reproductive health has also been associated with premature death.

The researchers urge humanity “to shift our collective focus” and prioritize demanding the replacement of the said chemicals from our everyday items with chemicals that do not affect our hormones.

” It’s also time to establish better testing methods and regulatory actions so that only safe chemicals can enter the market and our bodies. In other words, we need to stop using each other and our unborn children as lab rats for EDC exposures,” Swan and Colino stressed.

“The health and the future of the human race really do depend on it,” they added. Ian Biong /ra

A Sex Educator Explains What To Do If Your Partner’s Penis Doesn’t Fit

Ah, the ancient problem of the mare and the horse.

In this week’s Sex IDK column, Emma McGowan, certified sex educator and writer, answers your questions about a mismatch between penis and vagina size.

Q: Is it normal if my partner’s penis doesn’t fit all the way inside of me?

Penis size is something that so many people — of all genders — have questions about. Is it too big? Is it too small? Is there such thing as the right size? But this question, Reader, is especially interesting because it’s not the standard penis-size question: It takes your body into account as well. So, let’s dive in.

First off: There’s no such thing as “normal” when we’re talking about sex, genitalia, sexual preferences, or really anything to do with human sexuality. There is such thing as average when it comes to size — and the average penis size is about five to seven inches when erect — but “normal” doesn’t exist. (Even average is a debatable concept because it’s very likely that no one human actually fits the true definition of average. But that’s a topic for another story.)

There’s also an average depth for the vaginal canal, which stretches when a person is turned on, just like a penis grows during arousal. According to sex researchers Master and Johnson, the average depth for an unaroused vagina of someone who has never given birth is 2.8 to 3.1 inches and 3.7 to 4.1 inches when aroused. And according to Planned Parenthood, unaroused vaginas can range from two to four inches and be aroused from four to eight inches.

I know there’s a range there, but those numbers can help us see that, yes, it’s very likely that there are many couples out there who are mismatched in size. For example, if one person has a vagina that is four inches when aroused and their partner has a penis that is seven inches when aroused, only about half of that penis will fit into that vagina. And that’s when both people are both within the “average” size ranges, right? So, if we pushed this thought experiment even further, then there are likely couples where the penis is ten inches, and the vagina is, say, two!

The mismatch between penis and vagina size is even referenced in the Kama Sutra, an ancient Sanskrit on love, sex, and marriage, which specifies animals for different genitalia sizes. For penises, it’s hare (small), bull (medium), and horse (large). And for vaginas, it’s deer (small), mare (medium), and elephant (large). According to the ancient Sanskrit text, a horse and a mare are an “unequal” union — aka not a great idea because that penis isn’t going to fit well in that vagina. Likewise, a hare and an elephant won’t be a great fit either, because the penis will be too small for the vagina.

But if you’re more of a deer and your partner is horse, that doesn’t mean you’re doomed! There are plenty of sex acts that don’t involve a penis going into a vagina. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that a size mismatch could be a blessing in disguise because it encourages you and your partner to get creative. Why not spend hours going down on each other? Practice your hand job skills? Invest in a great cock ring for penetrative sex? Explore some kinks that don’t involve penis-in-vagina sex? There are a lot of options out there for a hot, interesting, and varied sex life if you’re willing to do some exploration.

You should also consider your menstrual cycle. The cervix (which is the end of your vaginal canal and the beginning of your uterus) changes in both texture and its position in your body, depending on where you are in your cycle. Your cervix will be lower and harder near your period, but near ovulation (which is halfway through your cycle), your cervix will be higher and softer. That means that you might be able to fit more of your partner’s penis inside your body when you’re closer to ovulation than when you’re closer to your period.

Of course, suppose you’re trying not to get pregnant. In that case, you also need to be extra careful about using a condom or another contraceptive method if you’re having sex near ovulation. But this change in depth due to your cycle isn’t relevant if you’re on hormonal birth control, like the Pill, because you’re very likely not ovulating.

When it comes to anal sex, the rectum doesn’t change in shape the way the vagina does. But the average size of the rectum ranges from around six to eight inches. That means it will more easily fit an average-sized penis than the average-sized vagina will. Does that mean it that every penis will fit in every butt? Nope! But it does mean that it’s more likely to fit.

If you’re experiencing a mismatch with your partner, Reader, and it’s bumming you out or interfering with your sex life, there are some things you can do to make penis-in-vagina sex feel better. First, make sure you’re really turned on before your partner enters you. That ensures that your cervix is as far up in your body as possible, making it harder for him to hit it. (Trust me: You don’t want him to hit it.) You can ease entry with a high-quality lube, which will help everything slide around nicely. And, finally, I recommend checking out Ohnut. It’s a customizable stack of rings that your partner can wear on their penis in order to control depth of penetration — a very 2020 solution to the ancient problem of the mare and the horse.

Females reveal the top two physical traits they find most attractive in a man

What do women REALLY want? Females reveal the physical traits they find most attractive in a man – and what they say might surprise you

  • Louanne Ward is an Australian-based dating expert and relationship strategist
  • She runs a Facebook group called She Said, He Said to garner real-world data
  • Ms Ward asked women what their two favourite physical qualities were in a man
  • Interestingly the top answer was eyes (27.3%), followed by a smile (21.1%)

A dating expert has polled a group of more than 200 Australian women about what their two favourite physical qualities are in a man, and the results aren’t as obvious as you might think.

According to the data, which was collected on Louanne Ward’s Facebook page She Said, He Said, women are most attracted to the eyes when they first meet a man, and then they look at his smile.

Ms Ward, who is from Perth in Western Australia, wasn’t entirely surprised herself by these findings because men placed almost equal importance on the face in her previous study, which asked men what they find most attractive in a woman.

An Australian dating expert has polled a group of women about what their two favourite physical qualities are in a man, and the results aren’t as obvious as you might think

This time around eyes reigned supreme at 27.3 per cent, followed by smile (21.1 per cent) and then having good teeth (18.75 per cent).

‘I love a man that is nicely built. Muscular with a nice stance and good looking. Pretty much like my car. You look at it and can’t take your hands off it or your eyes. Piercing eyes get me lost in that soul,’ one woman responded to the poll.

In fourth and fifth position were height (18.75 per cent) and then penis size, which came in at 14.1 per cent.

What women look for in men

1. Eyes at 27.3 per cent

2. Smile at 21.1 per cent

3. Having good teeth at 18.75 per cent

4. Height at 18.75 per cent

5. Their penis at 14.1 per cent

6. Muscles (closely behind)

This time around eyes reigned supreme at 27.3 per cent, followed by smile (21.1 per cent) and then having good teeth (18.75 per cent)

‘Definitely teeth… hmm and height! But only because I’m tall! God I feel so shallow right now,’ another woman said.

Only three votes separated the male appendage from muscles, which was in sixth place.

‘Nice package and definitely his smile. Could say a couple more but it’s only two. Feeling blessed as I’ve got him,’ said a third woman.

One man reading the poll hilariously interjected to say: ‘I’m doing an extra 50 reps on my arms, shoulders, chest, back and glutes per session after reading this.’

Last week Ms Ward reached out to the men in her Facebook group to ask them the same question.

Instead of choosing enhanceable features like lips or breasts first Louanne Ward (pictured) discovered that it’s the eyes that men find most attractive

Eyes took out the top spot at 34.8 per cent overall, followed by smile (24.8 per cent) and then bottom (10 per cent).

‘The eyes have it, then the way she carries herself, and finally, how she presents herself,’ one man responded.

In fourth and fifth position were breasts (7.7 per cent) and legs (6.2 per cent) with a healthy body shape, hair and personal style rounding out the list.

‘The first thing I notice is her eyes. I can almost read a person and it’s strange but the eyes truly are the gateway to one’s soul… then I notice the hair, I love a woman with long, beautiful hair,’ another man confessed.

Some men said their favourite thing about a woman is ‘her personality’, but this is not a physical feature (stock image)

Some men said their favourite thing about a woman is ‘her personality’, however those answers didn’t count towards the results.

‘I think people feel guilty expressing the need for physical attraction publicly,’ Ms Ward said in response.

‘If we aren’t attracted to someone it’s unlikely we will ever know what their personality is like, the same as looks alone aren’t enough to build upon.’

What were the top five physical traits overall?

1. Eyes 41.6 per cent

2. Smile 29.6 per cent

3. Bum 12.2 per cent

4. Breasts 9.2 per cent

5. Legs 7.4 per cent

Other men were even embarrassed to say that their favourite feature was a woman’s breasts, perhaps fearing it would spike backlash from the rest of the group.

But Ms Ward asked for honesty in her research: ‘There is nothing shameless about appreciating a woman’s breasts, they are part of her feminine form, plus you don’t have any which makes them more fascinating’.

My Male Enhancement Progress 2019 | Penis Enlargement | Lasting Longer | Harder

We’ve partnered with TotalMan and will be presenting regular video features from this comprehensive site!

In this video, TotalMan discusses his male enhancement progress for 2019:

In this video I take your through my male enhancement journey and results so far and whether or not I feel like it has been worth it.

I do believe male enhancement from the perspective of Total Man comes down to 3 elements:

– Attraction

– Performance

– Connection

In this video I mainly take you through the performance results that encompasses:

– Penis Size

– Erection Quality

– Sexual Stamina

Of which most of my results came from this year – 2019. From the month of February:

– Penis Size: Bone Pressed Erect Length 16cm – 19.25cm, Base Erect Girth 14.5cm – 16cm

– Erection Quality: I could say 99% of the time, I can reach 99-100% of full hardness. What I dictate percentage off is tightness of skin, vascularity, ability to press and compress shaft.

– Sexual Stamina: I use to lack such stamina, I could ejaculate within the minute. Eventually sometimes I could go for close to 5 minutes however have no control what so ever when I approached the edge. NOW…I could just about call it like an on off switch. I do state in the video, unless of course I have not ejaculated or had any stimulation for a substantial amount of time.

Enjoy!

Savage Love: Do men lose penis size as they age?

Savage Love: Do men lose penis size as they age?

By Dan Savage

This article is a repost which originally appeared on DETROIT METRO TIMES

I’m an otherwise healthy male of 54. When I was a teen, my cock measured about six-and-a-half inches. Not small, not huge, pretty average. I never kept track of the situation down south, but suddenly I find my junk reports in just over four inches. WTF? Is this normal? Do men lose size/girth as they age? I’m only 54! How much more do I have to lose before 60? And beyond? I’m single now and suddenly I’m afraid to be intimate with women I formerly would have embraced without a second thought out of embarrassment. My confidence is at an all-time low. I’m actually afraid to ask anyone out for fear of “exposing” the evidence. I assume there are no pills for this, but please tell me there are options.

—Shrinking In Seattle

“We have to make a distinction between observed penile length and actual penile length,” says Dr. Ashley Winter, a board-certified urologist in Portland, Oregon. “Penis length changes in real time based on a number of factors, factors that include level of arousal, stress, and ambient temperature. For this reason, researchers like to limit variability by measuring the ‘stretched flaccid length’ in a warm room.”

Needless to say, most men aren’t observing — much less measuring — their dicks when they’re soft.

“We know that almost ZERO home dick measurements are done in the flaccid state,” says Dr. Winter. “But unless SIS jotted down the room temp or precise level of arousal when he measured his teenage penis, it’s unlikely he’s comparing apples to apples. Another issue — and a far less appreciated one — is that the penis is anchored to the undersurface of your pelvic bones, so nearly one-half of the average penis length is ‘hidden’ along the undersurface of the pelvis.”

There’s a very special tendon — the suspensory ligament — that runs from the base of your penis to your pelvis. In addition to providing you with some degree of control when you’re erect, SIS, the suspensory ligament also holds some of your dick up and inside the body. Men who want their cocks to look larger when they’re soft and who don’t mind if their hard cocks are harder to control or flop around during intercourse will sometimes have this suspensory ligament cut, which causes the penis to “drop.” Their cocks aren’t as useful for sex, it’s true, but there’s more “observable” cock for other men to admire in locker rooms and at urinals.

“The most dramatic cause of lost ‘observed’ penile length with aging is weight gain,” says Dr. Winter. “As the average guy gains weight, more of his fixed penile length gets hidden, as the crucial sit-bone-to-skin distance gets longer.”

So your dick may not be any smaller than it was in your teens, SIS; it’s just that more of it may be hidden inside your now-middle-aged body thanks to weight gain and that damn ligament.

But hey, let’s say you’re no thicker today than you were in your teens and that your arousal levels are constant and that you’ve kept your apartment at a constant temperature over the decades. Could something be causing your cock to actually shrink?

“The main causes of actual penis shrinkage are having your prostate removed, Peyronie’s disease (plaque development that narrows or bends the penis), or the scarring of erectile tissue, something called corporal fibrosis,” Dr. Winter says. “SIS would know if he’d had prostate surgery, and he would have a noticeable ‘lump’ or change in erection shape if he had Peyronie’s. So the main concern here is corporal fibrosis. It can be insidious and is usually associated with conditions that make blood vessels unhealthy — like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. SIS says he’s healthy, but the penis is often the first body part to manifest signs of the above conditions because it is so dynamic. Which means the penis, wonderfully and tragically, is often the ‘canary in the coal mine’ for cardiovascular health.”

Let’s say your canary is shrinking, SIS. What can you do about it?

“First and foremost, he should realize that far less women would care about his penis length than he does,” says Dr. Winter. “Studies including 52,000 individuals showed that 85 percent of women were satisfied with their partners’ penile length, while only 55 percent of men were satisfied with their own length.”

And unlike you, SIS, the women you sleep with today aren’t going to be comparing the dick you’ve got now with the dick you had (or thought you had) then.

“But if SIS wants to maximize his ‘observed’ penile length, he should shed extra weight — if he’s overweight — and should also check in with his doc for a test of his cholesterol, blood pressure, and a diabetes screen,” says Dr. Winter. “Regular erections do help keep the penis healthy, so if he has some ED, a Viagra (or similar med) can preserve length.”

Sorry guys, having big feet doesn’t mean your penis is super-sized – it’s all in the toes

SOLE SEARCHING Sorry guys, having big feet doesn’t mean your penis is super-sized – it’s all in the toes

Becky Pemberton

* This article is a repost which originally appeared on THE Sun

MOST people know the phrase “you know what they say about men with big feet”, but is this cheeky saying true?

Scientists set out to see if the old wives tale of big feet equalling a whopping penis was accurate– and men with big shoes may no longer have a reason to brag.

It turns out, from a 1993 Canadian study, that there was no strong correlation between penis and foot size.

Scientists noted: “Height and foot size would not serve as practical estimators of penis length.”

This was supported by a similar study done across the pond in the UK in 2002, with researchers concluding: “The supposed association of penile length and shoe size has no scientific basis.”

However, there may be a body part that could be an indicator of your penis size; your toes.

What is the average penis size in the UK?

According to Target Map, Britain’s average erect schlong is from 3.5-5.8 inches.

But research from London clinic International Andrology clinic has slightly different results.

This may be because they asked 1,000 blokes to reveal their own size (which could have led to a few extra inches being added).

They found the average penis length in the UK is 6.36 inches.

Men with the largest members live in Wales, according to the survey, with the average size in that region measuring 6.56 inches.

At the bottom of the table with the smallest penises in the UK was the East Midlands, which came in with an average of 6.11 inches.

In 1999, a Korean study found that the circumference of the penis was slightly correlated to the length of your first and third toes.

Although a slight link occurred, it was deemed to be a weak indicator.

Scientists wrote: “Human body index including the size or characteristics of body extremities is not enough to predict the penile size.”

Meanwhile, in Greece in 2002, it was found that there is a “statistically significant” correlation between the penis length and index finger length.

So there you have it! Next time someone brags about the size of their trainers you may want to take the connotations with a pinch of salt.
