Based on the following, neither side is doing very well. Although it is obvious that Russia attacked Ukraine, the Trump Administration is attempting a 180 degree shift and trying to make Russia and his BFF the victims.

For all the US assistance the Rus economy is in the toilet . The Rus have manpower and equipment issues and internal dissent .

Trump loves to make Putin happy. He's been wrong about the whole thing and now wants to roll right over Zalensky and exploit the situation. What he and Vance did..... THAT'S not how it's done. That's not diplomacy. That's not trying to negotiate peace. It was showmanship for the camera and a performance for Putin. Vance was a disgrace in that room. They railroaded Zalensky into that meeting and set him up. There was no leadership in that room yesterday. Rubio and Brink were visibly not on the Trump/Vance side but didn't interject any sense of reason into the discussion. It was just a massive setup.

Nah... The reason he isn't accepting the absurd terms of the "deals" being offered is exactly because he's looking out for the best interests of the country.

Trump isn't wrong to put the burden on Europe and he's not wrong to point a finger at NATO. But he is wrong in his handling of Ukraine and his fawning over Putin.

In order to get negotiations off on the right foot, one should not proceed the meeting with spreading insults and false information And then begin the meeting by berating the Ukrainian president for being disrespectful.

Zelenskyy’s main objective going into the sit-down had been to press Trump not to abandon his country and to warn against moving too close to Russian President Putin. Instead he got shouted at while Trump appeared to play up the drama for the cameras. As a result, perhaps appropriate, it now appears the U.S. is no longer considered the leader in generating world peace and instead, the European Union will take on the role with European countries now less likely to share security information with the U.S.
