It’s tough to come to a fair negotiated peace when the head of the DOD takes a major bargaining chip (joining NATO) off the table before the bargaining begins. I am sure Putin is pleased. Not so much Western European Allie’s. It also doesn’t help when the Vice President meets with the leader of Germany's far-right, anti Islamic, pro Orban AfD instead of the ruling administration.

So two guys are fighting. literally killing each other. Put them in the same room and they'll start all over again. How bout putting them in separate rooms and go in one room first and see what that guys problem is and then the other. Once you know each guys problem maybe you can help reach a solution. I know better to let them kill each other

So far he has cut the Euro and the Ukes out of the bargin process and is giving away bargin chips with nothing in return . I notice he has made no headway and the war continues . Trump seems more concerned with geting Uke resources than anything else . The US seems intent on destroying it's relationship with europe in the general sense which doesn't help the war effort .

I am concerned he will not only stop arms to the Ukes but break sanctions which are doing a number on the Rus economy .

The Rus economy continues it's slow motion train wreak despite a stockmarket rally due to Trump . I am going to be amused because in my lifetime the Rus economy will be smaller than the Australian ., now I am talking real terms not fudged figures .

Mind you recent moves by the US give aid and support to the Rus economy .

Meanwhile the war goes on . Hard to say with the Rus economy which is opaque but certainly in a bad way . Trump certainly has already helped it though .

The Ukes seem intent on damaging the Rus economy directly and not rely on sanctions and the like .

It's one thing to go talk to the first guy to understand the problem and then go meet with the second to discuss it. But a completely different scenario when you come out of the first room parroting the first guy's lies and shilling for his demands.

Here's what the future holds.The Ukes have nothing to bargain with. At their present rate of loss by years end they will no longer have enough manpower to adequately defend their front lines. Now either Z takes a deal which will heavily favor Russia and save some of his country or he can play hardball, the Russians will wait it out until his lines are poorly staffed and they take the whole country.
