WOW, really?

I was 45. But then again, i might be lying.

US and Russia went into Cold War. So you trained REBEL fighters in Afghanistan, fighting for THEIR freedom.
Do you see how this is overstepping your boundaries?

Because if you don't, there is really no point in pursuing any kind of inteligent debate here.

No we were involved in the Cold War since the 50's.
Now since this happened 50 years ago just what do you think can be done about it other than condemning the US? Do you think the Russians overstepped their boundaries by invading Afghanistan?

By the way how's the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine doing?

Wow! That makes you about what 75 - 80 years old?

I mentioned this before, let's keep it on topic. It's about the US elections and not a who hates the US thread.

Sorry Cusp, but did i say that the Cold War started in the 70s? I believe not so i don't see the point in your "correction".

So you don't see the connection and attitude between what you did in Afghanistan in the 70s, and its rammifications into what became Al-Qaeda, and then ISIS? And you don't see the similarity between training rebels in the 70s in Afganistan to training rebels and use them to overthrow Kaddafi 40 years later?

And you don't see how the same kind of twisted logic behind is used time and again to increasingly worse consequences??

Cavalier, this is on topic. I'm trying to ascertain that Bernie Sanders is the most sane of all, and how Hillary and Trump and what they propose as solutions will likely lead the US and the rest of the world into more and more conflict.

As for Ukraine, it is yet another example of a bad politician being replaced by a worse one that obeys to the EU and the US.
And as for Crimea, the story is very badly told. Many crimeans prefer in fact to belong to Russia than to Ukraine. It is the same as Cataluña in Spain or the Basque Country.
Putin is moving as closer as the US bases get closer. The problem with Russia is the fact that unless the bullies are on the same side, every bully wants to be the only bully in school.

Sick to current issues that the future president will be facing and what candidate would best handle it, not what went wrong or right in the past.

And you don't see that what we did was in response to the Russians invading a free country. Just let them have it I say.

And when Putin wants more of the Ukraine and maybe some other areas well then you guys take care of it. Trust me America will shed no more blood for Europe; we have shed more than enough. As Trump says; America first! Hope you like vodka!

Some people have spent far too much time in the Fox News echo chamber. It is scary. Might makes right and the US can do whatever it wants around the world. And if other countries are doing something better, like universal healthcare, mew can't dare emulate it because Murica. It's amazing how we have to move heaven and earth to save four white Americans in Libya, can use horrendous endless Middle East intervention justified by "saving" Iraqis who've been ultimately further harmed for war... And yet poor black lives in Chicago aren't worth it. Any wonder why the Republican Party is viewed as dog whistle racists?

What makes you guys so angry? So bigoted? So closed minded? That you support a mysonogist and racist who is an authoritarian fascist in the most Unamerican way? I really wish I could understand what makes you guys tick, I really do. At least it becomes harder for Republicans to claim the moral high ground and family values with Trump at the helm, the cognitive dissodance is real.

Hard to know where to begin! You don't state where you live, so I only assume by the comments you make it must be Utopia? Wherever it might be, I would strongly suggest you stay there! Please don't come to the United States! We wouldn't want you to be subjected to all of the angry, bigoted, closed mined, misogynistic, racist authoritarian fascists that live here! LoL

Wishing you the best! Hope you get what you deserve in this life..... I got a feeling you're the one who really hates looking in the mirror.

Is there anything wrong with liking a person? Doesn't mean he'll listen to him or do what he wants. I like my kids but....!

Here let me give you a Trump thing that he gets grief for. He is a fervent supporter of Israel. When asked if he could negotiate a deal between the Israeli's and Palestinians he said he would love to try. It would be the deal of a lifetime and how great it would be to bring peace. He said if he got involved in such a deal he would have to be neutral. People called him anti Isreal. Well if you were a Palestinian would you go into a deal with someone who's biased? His love for Israel aside he would try and remain neutral to bring peace. I think it would be a good idea.

Z you're still not proving anything. Oh in 1991; gee 25 years later he didn't remember the guy. Maybe he thought the guy was dead and it was a different Duke. You have offered no facts but simply speculation, kind of like watching MSNBC.

Are you serious? I can give you the exact quotes about David Duke. And it was 25 and 15 years ago, you don't forget movers and shakers you've been involved with and avoid joining a political party. Here is the exact quote from Tapper, not he asks Trump to condemn the Racism that the Former KKK Grand Wizard represents who has endorsed him. Trump was reminded exactly who David Duke is. No doubts, it was right therein the question.

Tapper: “I want to ask you about the Anti-Defamation League, which this week called on you to publicly condemn unequivocally the racism of former KKK grand wizard David Duke, who recently said that voting against you at this point would be ‘treason to your heritage.’ Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don’t want his vote or that of other white supremacists in this election?”
Trump: “Well, just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke. Okay? I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So, I don’t know. I don’t know, did he endorse me or what’s going on, because, you know, I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you’re asking me a question that I’m supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.”
Tapper: “But I guess the question from the Anti-Defamation League is, even if you don’t know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally you condemn them and you don’t want their support?”
Trump: “Well, I have to look at the group. I mean, I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I would have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them. And, certainly, I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.”
Tapper: “The Ku Klux Klan?”
Trump: “But you may have groups in there that are totally fine, and it would be very unfair. So, give me a list of the groups, and I will let you know.”
Tapper: “Okay. I mean, I’m just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but…”

But, I guess it is reasonable to just give him the benefit of doubt... I mean he was only interviewed on Larry King about the guy... and the guy was a major mover and shaker in the Louisiana politics... and Trump had run in with him with the Reform Party in 2000 and knew exactly who he was. But, in 2016 when asked a question about him to denounce a former Grand Wizard of the KKK and to denounce the KKK Trump simply didn't, he dodged, he deflected, he did everything he could and only denounced him days later after again claiming to not know anything about the guy and framed his denouncements in a way that made it seem less than genuine.

But wait! There is more. He remembered him as recently as Aug 2015. Yet just four months later he knew nothing about they guy. Crazy huh?

Heilemann: “How do you feel about the David Duke quasi-endorsement?”
Trump: “I don’t need his endorsement; I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement. I don’t need anyone’s endorsement.”
Heilemann: “Would you repudiate David Duke?”
Trump: “Sure, I would do that, if it made you feel better. I don’t know anything about him. Somebody told me yesterday, whoever he is, he did endorse me. Actually I don’t think it was an endorsement. He said I was absolutely the best of all of the candidates.”

Hard to know where to begin! You don't state where you live, so I only assume by the comments you make it must be Utopia? Wherever it might be, I would strongly suggest you stay there! I live in Wisconsin. My facebook news feed is unfortunately filled with racist anti intellectual Trump supporters and I'm quite glad my state at least didn't choose him. Some of them are friends, family, or family friends and it makes me utterly ashamed of their behavior. Some are so consumed by hate that they deny any facts and believe what they want or what was spoon fed to them by Faux News. It is really quite sad and they have my pity.

I have no problem looking in the mirror nor do I have any problems with my self worth.

You really didn't know where to begin, you just jumped on an ad hominem attack and you used lots of words to say nothing at all.

Yep...let's not spoil the thread by getting personal with stuff.

Let's have a debate, albeit heated, without ending up hating on each other.

Z does it really make a difference who endorses him? I mean I am sure there are not nice people endorsing and voting for the other candidates as well. Do we want our candidates spending all their time disavowing this and that or telling us what they will do. He is not racist; he is a business man that deals with all kinds of people.

It matters that he disavow open racism and the KKK, something he was unwilling to do. His unwillingness to do so speaks volumes.

Speaking of him being a business man, he has a history of being a racist business man having been sued by the DOJ twice for discriminating against african americans. But, he isn't a racist... he just says racist things and has struck a cord with white nationalists....

Z he wasn't sued by the DOJ. A real estate company owned by him set criteria too high for some folks to rent apartments. That has been done with many real estate guys in NYC. Do you really think that Trump personally had a hand in that? Huge businesses and he calls the realtor and says don't rent to blacks? Come on.

Trump Management Company headed by Donald Trump was indeed sued by the Justice Department twice in the 70's for discriminatory practices having a host of witnesses including rental agents and supers. It included marking african american and other undesirables applications to indicate they were not white, or giving them different lease options or different rental terms. TMC settled out of court and was required to comply with a list of items and promise not to discriminate. They violated that agreement and were sued a second time by the Justice Department. You can claim he didn't know or tell people to do it, but there was substantial witness testimony showing both Trump's and his fathers direction in doing so. Even Trump's public response about being happy the settlement didn't force him to rent to those on welfare should be pretty striking.

Sure, it was a long time ago but racist roots aren't that likely to simply vanish. I mean, he sure took his time disavowing the KKK... and maybe just maybe all those white supremicist's retweets are just accidents too. And all of his other remarks are just out of context and he didn't mean "some" of the mexican immigrants were good people but really truly meant "most". Maybe Donald is just to incompetent and incapable of filtering his speech he makes mistakes and says racist misogynist things. I mean, he really could have been concerned about Megan Kelly having a bloody nose...

Z why do you fall for the new age mantra; everyone is racist or bigot or misogynist? How many times have I been called a racist for not liking Obama much, if any at all? Lots of time because if they said it to my face I'd pop them one. My objection to Obama has nothing to do with color but nowadays I am not allowed that luxury.

They ran a story about Trump the other day in the NY Times about his women and how bad he was to them. Funny thing is everyone of the women they interviewed all came out publically and said their words were twisted.

If you look at the history of lawsuits against real estate folks in NYC you will find tens of thousands with Trump being just small number. Many of those agents had suffered much property damage by certain groups and were trying to limit that. Was it wrong? Sure was but hey were trying to stay in business. Most of them were not racial at all but economic; low wage earners wanted to move into better housing without the ability to pay and since many of them were black well you guessed it; lawsuit because I am being discriminated.

A man I know who owned a complex in Queens was sued, and lost , because he required a 2 month security deposit. Five families who were denied his apartment because they could put down no deposit got together and sued him for discrimination. Now do you think that was fair?
