Well said!

I'll add that the response "time will tell" is another way to deflect and not address the immediacy of a situation. We have information now and we have to make decisions now. Decisions that are being made are having dire consequences and affecting millions of lives. Simply dismissing the difficult questions that require purposeful investigation with "time will tell" takes us further away from growth and understanding.

He's actually 1000% right; time will tell. The decisions we're making now we will look back years from now and decide if we were right or wrong just as we look back at decisions made back in January and now find fault with them although some were okay.

no matter what they tell us, nothing has justified the shutdown of the economy.

no matter what they tell us, nothing has justified the shutdown of the economy.

And that was the point I was endeavoring to make. Shutting things down was easy; we simply had no idea of how to restart it again nor was any consideration given to the "unseen" victims of a shutdown. No thought was given to how it would affect people. Hell we never did it before so we never really had a plan. I think they thought it would only be for a short time but hey they were wrong weren't they?

Do you think next time they do anything that affects millions of people that just maybe they will spend some time looking at ALL the potential problems before they act? I am sure they never considered the lost tax revenue of a closed business and the total loss of businesses closed forever. Hey politicians need money to spend and small business pays lots in taxes.

Oh yes they made themselves look very noble by saying we're protecting out people but when all is said and done the actions they took will kill more people and ruin more lives that any virus could. They try it again there will be riots.

A comparison between Ardern's New Zealand and the US re economic recovery will be very interesting .
Of course NZ had virtually no covid because of a hard lockdown . She went far harder than the US and there has been an economic price in the short term . As we see the medium and long term results become apparent they can be compared to the US.
I fear the comparison with Aussie will be more difficult due to the trade war with China .

California hospitals are overwhelmed with new Corona virus victims which now have to wait in the halls for a vacant room. Hospitalizations were 180 per day after Thanksgiving and are currently over 300 per day. I don’t believe they are significantly reporting improper Covid cases.

Heroes are nurses and medical professionals willing to put in extra hours to care for those infected and those who voluntarily transfer from lower Covid case areas to higher Covid case areas to help care for the infected.

According to my nephew-in-law’s father in Australia, after complete closure, there are currently no reported cases of Covid being reported.

Australia has had very few covid cases due to hard lockdown . Again a price to be paid re economy . The medium and long term economy is going to be affected by trade war with China as well as covid so I see it being hard.

People are still viewing this as though the goal should be no cases of Covid. And that there is no price too high to pay in achieving that goal. WTF

They have been caught red handed labeling people with covid by administering a test that cannot specifically identify covid-19

For hospitals thT don't have enough tests, they are aloud to diagnose covid by symptoms.

Anything that disputes covid is pulled from the web. The truth fears no investigation.

Covid is real, the statistics and lethality is a lie

It doesn't even have to directly or explicitly dispute Covid to be removed. The WHO just removed reference to naturally acquired immunity. Going against everything that we've learned and have known for decades, this week they changed their explanation of herd immunity, describing it as something that's achieved by vaccination, removing prior references to previous infection.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately much, not all, being argued here is outside the realm of fact or reason. We can have difference of opinion we can't have facts and alternative facts. Sorry Kelly Ann. And truth is truth sorry Rudy. By April we will be at over a half a million dead and you will still hear it is a hoax.

Well New zealand has no cases of covid and Aussie very few . Like I said it will be interesting to see how they go relative to US.
Unfortunately Aussie isin a trade war with China who we are very reliant on so that will upset our recovery.

I am sure there are some cases of improper diagnoses; however, as a group, medical professionals are not inclined to Be dishonest.

I agree Covid is real, but statistics and morbidity are only slightly misrepresented. You are going to have a problem convincing my sister-in-law that the 25 fellow residents in her assisted living facility who died of Covid in March and April this year were misdiagnosed when normally only three or four die during a year in the facility.

See, this will all contribute to a mandate, whether it best imposed legislatively or via loophole (occupations, universities, schools, etc. will require vaccination.)

New Zealand did well but Taiwan did even better - best of any, perhaps - and had no lockdowns, going pretty much completely against the popular narrative to "stop the spread".

WRT New Zealand, here's a study with data showing that it wasn't lockdowns responsible for reducing deaths and that the cost of lockdowns far outweighed any benefits: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00779954.2020.1844786?journalCode=rnzp20

Yet you haven't provided any facts to support your assertion that 75% need to be vaccinated or the pandemic will continue.
