It's pretty hilarious to watch the left lose their minds again now that their golden boy of the EV revolution isn't what they were hoping for.
Having said that, while I love his dismantling of unbridled, wasteful spending programs, we should all have ethics concerns when he stands to benefit quite handsomely from the advice he gives. Trump's first administration created a number of conflicts of interest and this new one appears to be rife with them.

Well... Because so many of those things are a waste of tax payer money and were never in the charter of the US government to begin with. The government has grown beyond its intended and useful role and needs to be pruned.

Yes, tariffs will impose a tax on the average American and will hurt the economy overall.
Reducing federal programs/spending, on the other hand, will reduce the budget, deficit and federal debt and be a net benefit.

Everyone who wants to vilify Musk immediately latched onto his impromptu gesture as an opportunity, wanting very much to believe that it means he's a Nazi, when in fact you all know perfectly well that he's just socially awkward and has always been odd in public. It's a common trait/challenge for neurodiverse individuals (folks on "the spectrum"). And the hypocrisy of those who once would have said that we should be more tolerant and inclusive of neurodiversity but will now make fun of someone for it, calling them weird and awkward, would be pretty amusing if it wasn't so disgraceful and mean.

I am only bundling them together in the sense that it is the government responsibility to balance the budget (or attempt to anyway) and the cuts on spending and income from tariffs (that Americans pay) are both needed to offset the tax cuts for the uber rich in Trump's budget. Literally they need to write those numbers on paper for the balance to work.

I am not comparing them on their validity as concepts of economics.

I honestly see it as a conscience choice what he did. "I want to Nazi salute the world and I bet I get away with it those gullible simple minded idiots". Like some sort of twisted bucket list item for him since he thinks he is the most important/greatest person in the world. That or some sort of sick bet/dare with another uber rich and powerful person.

I have no evidence of this of course and it is just my opinion of what I see with my own eyes. I see an intelligent narcissistic man who knew exactly what he was doing even if it was not being pro nazis.

With all do respect, firing hard working employees just because they can work from home is idiocy. As the son of a CPS social work (for 25+years), I can assure you that government employees are not in it for the easy paycheck. There will always be part of any workforce that are disillusioned with their jobs and should probably be considering other career paths. But no argument can be made that almost 10k veterans from the VA offices around the country are just not showing up or doing a bad job. That is as statistically impossible as being born with a 24" dick. We can try to work the numbers to get there, but it just ain't true, and the same can be said about every other agency.
The EPA's job is not to "make it easier to buy a car or run a business" as their new director said recently. The whole plan from the start ("coincidently" also was part of project 2025) was to dismantle the government so that it can be privatized. Education department Environmental agencies, food, drug and medical agencies, the post office and all social programs are on the chopping block, and that will only hurt the American people.
All parties in US politics lie, but one of them reprimands it's elected officials when they lie and one of them embraces lying liars and the lies they tell (ref to an old book title by Al Franken). If you can not be honest with the American public, spout made up non-sense like "they are eating the cats and dogs", you don't deserve the power that comes with elected office because there is no way to trust that you wont abuse that power.

I personally blame Newt Gingrich for the decline in bipartisanship and the start of the modern decay of the republican party. The Heritage Foundation has supported and pushed forward some awful candidates. But Newt is the one who told republicans to stop spending time outside of congress with members from across the political isle; no more having bipartisan dinners, going to the gym with dems, no agreeing with them in public on any political issue and no voting for any dem proposed bill. And most of the party has held to this since the '90s.

Whether the employees are working hard or doing their job well doesn't have to be the question. The US government is bloated with agencies and departments, many of which never should have been created in the first place. We don't need a federal department running education. It's not even in the charter of the government to do so. The EPA is chock full of bureaucratic regulation and has become a mini government all its own. It needs to stop.
