Because the majority of people are stupid and lazy and want things now.

Yes, and another reason why trend diets like the "HCG Diet" are popular. Sure, they work but they are not healthy. I've known people on this diet (HCG) and they are a mess to say the least. As far as a relationship with diet and PE, sure a healthier diet is always a good idea. Does it directly impact PE though? Who knows?

I probably can't speak for everyone, but I know that for me going a low carb, low sugar, high protein diet has made vast improvements in all areas of my life including PE.^ I did infact take HCG for about 2 weeks, but after that I felt I was pretty much on my way and didn't need to take it anymore (it can get expensive too). It does work because on the very first day on it I lost 2.2 pounds, the next day another whole 2 pounds. Doing the same diet without it, I only lost 3 pounds in a ~week. So with that said it works, but is only a quick fix.

What I think is happening on a clean diet is, you're basically losing fat, gaining muscle, resetting your metabolism, resetting your blood sugar, raising your testosterone through losing the fat and lowering high blood pressure. All of this leads to better circulation, a healthier body and penis, and better gains.

I try to maintain a "mindful" diet and a steady exercise routine for good general health. Eating plenty of organic fruits and veggies along with good hydration goes a long way to overall health. Avoiding the over-indulgence of sodas, alcohol, tobacco, processed foods when you can also helps.

This approach may not directly affect PE gains but it certainly can't hurt :)

a high protein, low carb diet may do all of those things, and make you feel good...BUT once again feeling good alone is not an indicator that a diet is healthy. it may have boosted your test, dropped your insulin, stabalized your metabolism, and lowered your BP, but its not addressing cellular activity, your immune system, and your body ph.

Agreed bigmoe. Turtle do you have any idea how awful it is for your body to lose 2 lbs per day? Most health experts recommend to not try and lose more than a half pound per week. You can safely lose up to about 3 pounds per week, but the odds of keeping weight off that you lose on that extreme of a diet are pretty slim. The people losing 10+ lbs per week on shows like The Biggest Loser are under constant care of physicians, professional trainers, and professional nutritionists to make sure they don't severely damage their bodies.

I've been lifting weights about ten years now. Used many supplements in the process and there were times people in the gym asked if Im taking part in any competitions, so I think I was good. I now may be not look so bulk and cut, but im stronger than ever. Diet is key in EVERYTHING. It can definitely alter your body and your mind in many ways. However, a strict diet can be expensive or really hard to follow. I suggest a well balanced diet, containing all types of food. Dairy, white meat and fruits are really important. On the other hand, I definitely advise a reduced quantity of sweets and fat for health issues.
Nothing fancy. :)

the amount of money the dairy lobbyist pump into the system to avoid telling people how little it aids you and how extremely detrimental it is to your health is astounding

Maybe for some people it is awful, but for me it did more good than not doing anything at all especially when you're 5'9 210, only 24 years old with a 42 waist and everything else you tried didn't work. I found something that worked for me, why would i care what some expert thinks? 210-160 and now a 35 waist. Only thing awful about it was some constipation. But the key thing here is, I am much better off than before. And something else, about these "health experts", aren't they the same ones telling us not to do PE because its awful and doesn't work?

They'd be the absolute last people i'd take serious diet advice from, bottom of the barrel.

Your assumptions about the scientific community are so off base. you cannot lump all of it together. most medical doctors dont advocate PE. the medical research community is very different that the scientific research community. i dont think many exercise physiologists and nutrition researchers even have an opinion on PE.

this perception of financially provoked corruption has much more to do with the medical establishment than with the people doing research. people do research. the corrupt manipulate the studies they have done in their favor in order to promote their agenda. also i tend to have a lack of trust in non university financed studies.

Turtle everything you tried didnt work because you were trying fad diets. also your 24. diets like that may be great for you now. but since you lack the fiber in your diet, and alkaloids needed from vegetation, your body is accumulating salts that are being created in an attempt to maintain a proper body ph by binding the the excess acid as salts. over time this will have a detrimental effect on your health.

our paleo diet friend doesnt grasp this. you may have a sense of wellness on a diet like this, but it will lead to a shorter lifespan. you will age faster without the phytochemical benefits of fruits and veggies, and the salt accumulation will slow down organ functioning at a later age.

PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE, DIETS ARE NOT ABOUT THE RATIO OF FAT TO PROTEIN TO CARBS. its about the functional value of the nutrients in the food you eat . if you focus on nutritional content and not macro nutrients, your macros will naturally fall in line.

a diet needs to address all body systems to be effective for health.

it must actively address
-caloric needs
-immune system benefits ( phytochemicals)
- stability of body ph (liver, kidneys, muscle tissue)
- gastro-intestinal function (fiber)
- nutrient needs
-volume
-cardiovascular benefits (phytochemicals)

and thats not even considering how a poor diet negatively affects those systems

THIS!!!!!!! I wish there was a way to emphasize this to people, nobody seems to understand this! Being healthy =/= being skinny. Calories are just one aspect out of about 4 or 5 that need to be addressed in a healthy diet.

Turtle when you say you only saw benefits from the diet you are just completely basing that off of your external body fat. There are several other factors at play which are equally important. You might not have had any adverse effects if you only did it for a week or two but diets like that are really unhealthy. The only real way to have success with a diet is to change your lifestyle.

Bigmoe, and what shall I do about that? Change what worked for me? Okay, fiber. I can always add more fiber, no big deal. You agree that i'm better off now than at 210 I would take it, but at the same time you're saying that eventually my lifespan will be lower, how on earth does that make any sense? Colon cancer, perhaps! It's just silly really. I would think getting that weight off asap and getting the blood pressure down would be a top priority, would it not? 30 or 40 years from now i'm not gonna give much of a damn anyway about some cancer.

But lets assume you are correct and I will have a shorter life span, I would rather have a shorter more healthy experience than a long miserable one.

i forgot a few, particularly bone density. isnt it just odd that all of the highest calcium containing foods are plants, and that dairy calcium isnt beneficial to bone growth, since calcium is often used to to create salts to neutralize the acidity of milk. even worse the calcium your body uses isnt from the milk, its from your bones.

so yes dairy might increase bone growth, but it actually lowers bone density

also consider the okinawans. the longest living culture on the planet, along with a few other asian/indian cultures. their diets were mostly plant based with some grain and minimal fish....in total around 90% plant based

The point is that eating like that is less healthy. All other things being equal, less fat is better than excess fat. But losing it that fast is unhealthy and eating so few calories is extremely unhealthy, and then on top of that you are probably not getting near as many nutrients as you should.

Diets are just fucking silly anyway.

Here's a thought. Eat a proper and balanced diet and exercise. It's as simple as that.
Want to maintain your weight? Calories in = Calories out
Want to loose weight? Calories in < calories out (this doesn't mean to starve yourself either. Go for a jog or something)
Want to gain weight? Sit on your ass eating cheetos all day.

turtle...a real diet will have the same benefits you got from that hack diet. colon cancer or cardiovascular disease. hypertension was solved, but its only a small piece of the puzzle. you would most likely die from old age at 70 or 80. people that dont eat plant based food age quicker. it may not be some disease but the simple fact of aging will speed up. i want to live to 110, i dont know about you

a nutritarian diet would do the same as your low carb diet but with real health benefits.

your point of view is so narrow minded. people are capable of living vibrantly with happiness and mobility into their 90's and 100's but for some reason we have this belief that we should die of some illness at 80, and that from 60-80 we should get old and be used to having poor health. it simply doesnt have to be the case

but if you are so enamored by your current diet, then stick with it and consider transitioning to a more health based

It's a real shame Jack LaLanne died, but even more shame that people want to ignore everything that he's proven about fitness and a proper diet.

Even when he died at 96, he still looked healthier and better than most people do in their late 50's.

and to our paleo friend. have you ever looked at the life expectancy of the inuit compared to the Okinawan?
