Tell him the truth about what happened
I told him literally everything. I see no reason to lie.

I'm back from the appointment now. I am confused and very worried. According to the urologist, the ultrasound went well. I had healthy blood flow and no damage in the blood vessels.

They put alprostadil in my penis which should make it fully erect. However I noticed right away it didn't happen, it was mostly flaccid during the scan and he just continued and kept saying it looked healthy. He also kept saying the flow looked great. When I asked him why is it not getting fully erect, he brushed it off and said it will probably get more erect when you get home. It didn't get more erect than 60% or so.

He didn't know what else to do. All he could do was plan an MRI scan for 2 months from now, I agreed to that but that's not going to be of much help I guess. Where should I go from here? I'm really clueless.

Okay so let's think; if you have healthy blood flow and no physical damage what could be the reason for not getting a full erection?

Perhaps pelvic floor issues, I'm also still constipated which could be related.

Or nerve damage because the sensation in my shaft is really low. I can barely feel if I'm erect if my penis is not touching anything. And it's floppy when semi-erect, although this is also a side effect of weak erections in general.

You don't think there is any stress/worry issues because you think you ruined your best friend?

I mean yeah I'm worried, who wouldn't be?

I have rested for 3 weeks now, tried not to think about it and went on with my life. I would guess now is a good time to look into physical issues.

The purpose of the application of alprostadil at your appointment was to encourage sufficient bloodflow so they could get a readable image from the ultrasound scan. I don't think your urologist needed a 100% erection in order to look around at blood flow and other structures.

Here, check this out:

In this study which was a comparison between two methods of delivery of the vasodilator Alprostadil, only 48% of the men who received a direct injection into the corpus cavernosum "reached complete rigid erection." And of those who received the Alprostadil through a "medicated urethral system for erection" (MUSE) which is probably absorption through the walls of the urethra only 10% "reached complete rigid erection."

Good for you for taking this step of getting the exam. I do believe your urologist has ruled out a category of possible physical causes.

Are you going to go through with the MRI?

Thanks for your input. That puts my mind at ease a little bit. I just heard from people who have taken this scan that they got so erect it would almost hurt. When I didn't really get past 60% at any point I was a bit shocked. I think it shows that something is still wrong with my blood flow.
I have the MRI planned, but if it's ever going to heal, it should be healed by that time. So I really am not counting on that.

I'm going to make an appointment with a pelvic floor specialist tomorrow, perhaps they are more familiar with my issue. I really have no idea what else I can do. Of course I will keep resting in the mean time.

I have always wondered why 3 weeks of rest somehow is the magical amount of time to heal. I pulled a groin muscle years back and that took 3 months.

Because most people who recover from similar injuries, recover within 2-3 weeks from what I've seen. I'm still resting but I also want to continue ruling things out.

How did you pull your groin muscles and what were your symptoms?

Playing rightfield and it hurt like hell!
Healing is a very tricky thing. It depends on the nature of the injury, the extent of damage and the persons capacity to heal.
5 guys break their arms in the same spot. They go to the same doctor and he puts them all in a cast for 8 weeks. Now does it really take 8 weeks to heal? If you could take xrays weekly I bet some were healed by the 5th week, maybe another by the 6th week and by the 8th week they were all healed except one who needed 2 more weeks. The reason the doc put them in a cast for 8 weeks is generally that's a good healing time. Since no one wants to get x-rays every week than we go with the rule of thumb.
What I have learned in my years of PE is that injuries happen and there really isn't much in the way of fixing those injuries. The rare instance where damage is found well maybe some of those can be fixed but when tests show nothing wrong well what do you fix if you see nothing wrong? Guys hate urologists because they know something is wrong and want it fixed but again no doctor can fix what he can't see and docs make lots of money fixing things that are broken and they will fix you if they see something wrong.
I have also learned that guys freak out from an injury and they maintain they are broken a long time after any injury has healed.
Sadly we guys get mentally irregular over the smallest injury and know it will never heal and we're doomed. They mentally never allow themselves to mentally heal long after they are physically healed. Let me tell you my experiences tells me that 99% of all injuries will physically heal fine. If yo keep your mind from going crazy you will be fine in time.

I didnt mean to imply you would lie, my bad if that is how it sounded.

Many people are just embarrassed so they don't always tell the doc that they have been pulling/jelquing there dong to make it longer and thicker.

Stress also can have a very negative impact so try as best as you can to relax.

90% of the time guys will stress so much about it that they give themselves mentally induced ED.

Try and apply heat to your groin area a few times a day and just relax. If there is an issue stress will only add to it.

Thanks for this. You make some good points, some many take longer to heal than others. Perhaps it is stress induced, time will tell. Meanwhile I will make an appointment with a pelvic floor specialist just to check it out, as I'm still suffering from tightness and constipation.

No worries man. I will try to relax. I did massage the glans a little bit today, and later today I got a strong erection from taking a peak at porn. I know I'm not supposed to do anything, but I feel like it may have helped. Now the question is if this is a sign of recovery or if it was somehow caused by the alprostadil from the ultrasound. I guess we will see in the coming few days.

Update: I woke up today with a fairly strong erection for the first time in 3 weeks. It seems like I can also get it hard by thoughts alone. I also had a decent sleep for a change. It wasn't unusual for me to wake up at 3am sweaty in the past weeks. I also seem less constipated. Perhaps the ultrasound and the stuff they put in to make it hard has kickstarted something? Or maybe it's just a coincidence.

I did end up with a tiny wound (tiny red dot) in the skin of my penis after having an erection after weeks of no activity. I'm assuming this is nothing but is this something I should be worried about?

My flaccid size is also completely back to normal, it feels good to have some presence in my pants again. The shaft is now a bit sore from stretching out after no activity for so many days, so I will let it rest some more. It also still feels a bit weird, but maybe I just forgot how everything is supposed to feel after so many days.

All in all it seems like I'm heading in the right direction!

Sounds encouraging. I noticed that yesterday you were becoming less worried. I wondered if we might be seeing a post like this soon. I really do hope it turn out to be nothing more than "fear itself" that caused this.

You've reminded me that one of the first times I played with jelqing/milking, I did a stroke with a little more force and a little more erection and WHOA! The sensation was just very intense and kind of jarring. I had to take a step back. I don't remember going through anything quite like you have. But I did flinch and took a day or two off. That was a long time ago.

Some of the sensations produced by PE techniques are alien. It takes time to become acquainted with limits and tolerances and to condition. I think we've all probably made mistakes.

By comparison after years of practice with techniques there a mind-body connection and a control over the application that didn't exist in the beginning. It would have been unthinkable as a beginner that I would be using the kind of force I can comfortably use with squeezing and stretching techniques today.

I hope it doesn't seem like I'm trying to talk you back into PE. I really don't wish to promote this activity to anyone. I leave that choice to you. The risks are real. I just think that what you probably went through is a very familiar experience and I do believe you'll be fine.

Looks like it was false hope.

I can't get hard mentally anymore and my shaft really does feel numb. I think my erections are coming from kegeling, and perhaps a full prostate from not ejaculating for a long time.
Can it be nerve damage after all? My glans is sensitive but the shaft isn't.

I'm happy for you nothing bad happened. I'm mostly definitely not getting back into PE. I would be blessed if I ever recover.

I think the easy erections were due to the alprodostil from the ultrasound after all.
Give it time!
I'm really worried since the shaft really does appear numb, only the glans is sensitive.

Probably nerve damage?

I don't know if I should massage or leave it alone. I'm afraid I'll lose the mind-penis connection if I don't do anything.
