Less than .5 for me, but I'm pretty fit I guess (160lbs/73kg, 6'/183cm).

It was about .5" when I started doing PE, but I've been exercising pretty consistently since then and I think it's down to about .25"-.3".

LOL at dart player. :D Without a tape measure get your finger next to your thumb and stick it into your fat pad and see how deep it goes. Mine goes up to the line (which is in my finger).

.5" is average for me. .25" when I'm doing a "get ripped" phase (usually summer).

.5 for me - I think I'd have to get very close to my ideal weight for it to change.

I got to within 10 pounds of my ideal weight a while back, and although I wasn't measuring myself back then, I don't think it changed at all. I think I'd have to get very skinny for it to change, but I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, it seems like that will be the last fat to go if I ever get back down to where I should be.

It's funny. I distinctly remember when I first noticed that I had a fat pad, but I can't remember for the life of me what age I was when I noticed it, and how overweight I was. It was definitely under 20 pounds though, because it was in high school or college, I think.

Guys, is the only way to lose the fat pad is by losing fat? I don't really want to lose that much more fat on my body. When I get skinny, my face looks gaunt and older looking :( I've lost a little bit of fat recently after a bulking phase which subsequently cut about .15" off my fatpad (I'm now .6"). When I was fatter my face looked healthier.

I was on the exercise bike today and when i felt my fat pad it was really cold (even though it was boiling outside). So while i was on the exercise bike (peddling away) i decided to continually prod and rub against my fat pad. So maybe by prodding and rubbing against the fat pad whilst also sitting down watching tv (like Al Bundy) i might be able to melt a few millimetres of my fat pad away.

LOL i'm hopeful this will achieve results. :p

So true. So true. When you lose weight, people will ask you if you're o.k.....and when you gain weight, they'll say, "You look really good. I see you've been taking care of yourself." Duhhhhh. Just remember for every ounce of fat on the outside of your belly, there is an equal ounce of fat on the inside, including your vital organs--kidneys, liver, etc.--another reason to knock off that paunch.
