Ryan,
The greatest challenge in a mans life, at least from what little experience I have thus far, is to learn how to appreciate solitude. Solitude is a state of self appreciation where you don't need anyone else to fulfill your wants or desires. You learn to appreciate your time with yourself, and make it constructive and fun.
Solitude is not loneliness, loneliness is a state in which you yearn for someone to make your life what you want it to be - and it will drain the life from you.
The pursuit of it is a double edge sword, it's rewards allow you to no longer need the approval of others (men and women) yet you'll find you get it much more then ever before.
The things you want will come, when you finally let go of they're singular pursuit.
