It is a community college so it is sort of cheap, but you are right, I really should use their facilities more. I might be able to bike more on an exercise bike there then I my real bike.

Now time to go get the bike looked at and see what the damage is.

I go to a community college as well. Either way, I think you could cover more ground on the exercise bikes as well.

Plus it makes for a nice substitute for the time being.

Hopefully our new gym opens soon.

Took the bike in. The whole rear tire had to be replaced and I am getting the gears and stuff professionally cleaned. Nothing major. I guess that proves that it wasn't me getting weaker. It will probably be fixed tomorrow.

If I have some free time after some classes I may just start using the gym some.

Got the bike back and things feel okay, but I am worried about the front tire now. I can it wiggle, I know it is a little normal, but the tire seems really close to the break. The new wheel added what feels like another 5 lbs. to the bike. I guess I will know Saturday when I have my only day off of the week to exercise.

I will be weighing myself tomorrow and hopefully I will be under 300 lbs.

The topic of the protein shakes also has me worried that I am not doing enough or doing anything right to help me along quicker.

Don't bother with protein shakes for now; although, right now, it seems like you're more cardio focused than muscle building focused.

If anything, I'd be focus more on hitting the weights with progressive intensity.

This blog is targeted towards women, but the information is valuable nevertheless.

I'd suggest reading up on it.

Here's two links I think that would be helpful.

It wasn't the protein shakes I was focused on about that conversation, although I must admit I was thinking about getting a few. I was more talking of everyone having this routines and know what they are doing while I am probably just scratching the surface of knowledge.

Well, that's to be expected when you're new to something, that's okay. Check out that blog I linked, it has plenty of information that a beginner should be aware of.

Haven't worked out in a few days because of how bad I felt and how crazy busy I was.

Got done with some exercises. 3 sets, 73 lb. bench presses (15/10/10), 100 crunches, 15 73 lb. barbell squats, 15 73 lb. barbell curls, and a little biking today.

I think my front tire is also causing some problems, may just have to get that looked at too. I think it is hitting the breaks.

I don't know about stronger, but considering I increased the weight of the barbell and my arms actually didn't feel all that tired after each set of the bench presses while before each set would make them a little tired for a bit.

As for feeling good. I have never felt good per se after a work out, but when I started doing all this extra stuff besides biking is when I started feeling happier and more confident.

The bike is worrying me some, but I think I may be able to finagle a new one with some of my school money as a form of transportation for it because if I replace the front tire it will have cost me more than the bike's original cost if I get it repaired.

ok let's start with the basics...

what kind of shape are you presently in?

Age:
weight:
Height:

And what kind of food intake are you consuming?

cuz you know you are what you eat.

Eating is a very important part of getting in shape, it's not all about how much weight you can lift or how big you are.

If you don't eat right it will be hard for you to get into shape, that is just the facts.

You must consume small portions of meals daily. You must give you body just enough time to digest the foods you take in to last for your next meal or you will gain fat.

In the opposite of that, if you don't consume enough in your daily intake then you will not get any bigger and always stay the same size.

So you say you want to get in shape, but what does that mean to you?

I did not read all the post on this thread and in your first starter thread you don't mention how much you weight or if you are trying to gain weight or lose it.

I would need more input to help.

Oh no there was a lot of info there, but I sort of deleted it in a fit of depression. Yeah, I don't know why I do that either.

I am 24, 6' 3'', and the last time I weighed myself, 2-3 weeks ago, I was 305 lbs., which is 15 less then when I started.

My normal daily food in take usually goes along these lines.

Breakfast - Cereal and an apple. (200-300 calories)
Lunch - Sandwich, salad, and an apple. (500-700 calories) If I am at work I usually have myself a diet green tea Arizona and a protein bar (180 calories from only the bar) just to get me through the day.
Dinner - This can be lunch and can be like I am at work, but sometimes I have what the nurse that takes care of my mother cooks. If it is pretty bad I have very little of it or only one serving of each, unless vegetables are made then I will have plenty. (Various calorie number)

If dinner happens to be my work meal then when I get home it is what lunch would be and nothing that was cooked. Maybe a bowl of cereal before bed if I am hungry enough.

The last few days I was doing pretty bad because I just couldn't care because of various reasons.

I try and always use whole wheat bread and lite version of dressings and try and watch how much I am using.

No biking today, I am definitely sure the front tire's rim is bent in some way.

4 sets (20/15/10/5) 73 lb. bench presses, 100 crunches, 10 push ups, 10 body weight lunges, 10 body weight squats, 3 sets (15/10/5)73 lb. barbell curls, 3 sets (15/10/5) 73 lb. barbell squats.

Definitely felt the work out today.

Just checked the scale and I lost 4 lbs. so I am not under 300 yet, but I am at 301 so 19 pounds total lost so far. I was hoping for around the same thing as last time where I lost a lot, but with this last weekend I probably gained a whole lot while I was depressed and didn't care about what I ate.

No working out but I was walking around for 8 hours for work and I bought a 40 lb. dumbbell set for $20 and then carried it home from work 0.7 miles. Yeah, I am going to be sore tomorrow.

If you end up going to a gym, and they have a stairmaster, I'd advise using that. That in my opinion is the best indoor cardio besides swimming.

I haven't looked into any gyms near me, I think I only know of a few near me, but of course cost is a factor.

I looked into my schools gym so there is plenty there for me to work with, but finding the time to get there is a pain since it turns into 2 hours just for transportation by bus.

In that case, I'd keep doing what you're doing. 40lb dumbbells could be used for a good about of things.

Well the time going there and back is 2 hours total. On Tuesdays I am there anyways and have the day off so I could do some there.

I can't wait to get a new bike with my funds coming in. Going to be awesome.

I mainly bought them for their price and, as you said, there is a lot I can do with them, plus they don't take up a whole lot of room.

Alright this is what I did today. Taken directly from Fitocracy. Not as much today as I am plenty sore from yesterday still. This weekend will pretty much be work and then working out or I probably should rest as much as possible.
