Okay another one. Would you rather:

1. Clear all third world debt.

2. Cure AIDS worldwide.

I would say clear third world debt, people may be able to better feed, water and educate themselves, sooner or later they will figure a way to put an end to AIDS.

In fact I don't know how much truth there is to this, but I was watching a T.V. programme that suggested a certain village in Africa where surrounding areas Aids was rife. This particular village's inhabitants didn't get Aids or very few of them contracted it, because they practised circumcision. It sounds far fetched but this documentary was in the last year.

Yes, so many possibilities and it is mind melting, but still, we can't be sure that by doing anything minor you are not changing the future, little things build up together, and make who we are now, but even if its just to see someone from the past before they died, I think that would cause more grief in the present as it would revive feelings for that person.

Good thing is its all hypothetical, Einstein doesn't believe its possible, and that it would be like toying with the universe. :D

Back to the mind melting for a second.

Einstein didn't believe in what? Time travel or premonition??

I have had deja vu and technically we are travelling through time all the time.

Whether you change the past or see the future, you would be changing your past from your future self's perspective.

As for the changing of our personality, well maybe, I believe our essence remains unchanged despite change being the one constant in the universe, change is how we evolve, it should be accepted, embraced and encouraged I believe.

“Wherein the faster an object travels, the slower is perception of time becomes, in a phenomenon known as time travel.”

You are basically unaffected by time, not traveling through it, like staying in your vehicle for a day at the speed of light and for other people its a week or a month, but you cant travel back nor choose a certain time to "visit".

I was originally referring to his quote "God does not play dice with the universe." regarding Quantum Mechanics, he was dissatisfied with the theory, ironically his Nobel prize was for that very subject.

The thing is - in my opinion - imaginatively creative writers take a scientific theory, and build wild interpretations based on the most extreme forms of it, and put it in an appealing form for the audience's mind, and then it takes off.

But I'll go with the hypothetical version(s) we see in the media.

If you are able to change an event in the past, then all subsequent events to it will change as well, making the necessary alterations to one's persona/conciseness, so what we currently know/are will be altered as well, since the sequence has been changed, more like a domino effect, one action changes those related to it.

Deja Vu, is different, it is an issue in how the information is transferred in the brain, a lapse of a millisecond causes the brain to think you had the same experience before, a neuro transmission thing rather than an actual happening.

One thing, I have to admit that I am not that much into the quantum theories altogether, and I can only make assumptions based on my understanding from what I have read long ago, either in science or science fiction. :)

I would opt for clearing all third world debt for the same reasons Candyman stated - no debt would enable these countries to afford better standards of living, better care and even research to help eliminate this terrible disease or at the very least greatly diminish it from being spread.

I would like to view the past of others. Not change anything from my past.

I don't need to see the future. I'm comfortable I'm doing the best I can. Let the chips fall.

But if I had the opportunity to sit with a remote control I'd love to see some of my relatives/ancestors in action. Really awesome people.

However I realize that if I did see what they did it could change my future actions. But I'll go with that was in the plan then.

For if I was allowed to see their past it means the almighty knows how I will act in the future as a result of what I saw.

Brain melt. My new favorite thing to say!! Haha

B, to the 1st question because of the voyeur in me and for the 2nd question I choose A, nothing like the exciting taste of all kinds of good. so I have a 3.75 GPA with my performance on the quiz.

Well as the woman who wrote "A Women's Guide to Penis Worship", I think it is pretty obvious what my answer to question #1 would be...but just in case there is any doubt; it would be (a) - give oral sex. :)

Now for question #2, I would have to answer (a) for that as well. I figure I might as well be the one having fun in this embarrassing situation.

Definitely B. It makes things a hell of a lot more interesting for me. I have a lot higher chance of being invited to join in than to invite someone else to join.

2. Would you rather...

a) Give oral sex?

OR

b) Receive oral sex?

I would rather do both, but if I had a choice it would probably be to give oral sex.

Maybe travelling away from a source of light at the speed of light everything would be still, but wouldn't it speed up if we travel toward it. I have to say when travelling faster I have not noticed any effect on my perception, unless the journey is fun or very boring. Gravity can affect time I believe.

I'm not so sure about the deja vu being some brain glitch either, I find it interesting that Einstein believed in God and since God "doesn't play dice with the universe" (first time I've heard that quote), it suggests there is some predestined path for life to take.

So I'm sure about what everyone believes, we certainly appear to have free will, but which would you rather:

Destiny or free will?

Wow Candyman...yet another thought-provoking "would you rather..." For me, the choice between free will and destiny would definitely be free choice. I prefer to choose how my life will unfold.

Would you accept the gift of being able to read other peoples minds if it meant that you could never turn it off?

Yes, it would make communicating with/understanding people easier and more accurate, I won't mind if they can read mine as well, a good form of communication it could be. :D

However, some may not be so comfortable about it, then it would not be good to pry on their thoughts.

So it depends on how comfortable my close circle would be with it, if those who matter the most will not like it (even though it is to communicate better) then I'll pass, otherwise it is a very good gift to have.
