Would you accept the gift of being able to read other peoples minds if it meant that you could never turn it off?

Hiya MrB8,
I understand what you mean about the advantages of being able to read someone's mind especially if you could choose when and with whom you would use it but in this case, I am stating that you would not be able to turn it off willing and therefore would hear everyone's thoughts - good or bad - all the time. Would you still want the ability?
Would you rather...
A) Win the lottery (mega millions)?
Or
B) Live twice as long?

Interesting thread TPW! Looks like I missed it during my vacation, and have some reading to do.Regular kind, not mind...
Mind-reading - It sounds like it could be great, but I agree that it would probably be more harm than help. It would be nice to know the truth at certain times, but not all the time. Some things are better left unknown.
Long life/lottery - If I aged half as fast, then that might not be too bad. I would certainly have the time to make enough, and I would get to see more of what the future holds.
If not, then the lottery, so I could just enjoy what time I had, because twice as many years being that old doesn't sound appealing.
Okay, I got one. You must pick one of your five senses to heighten, but at the cost of disabling another.
Which do you bring up, and which do you shut down?

And I wouldn't want to read minds. I like surprises & some things are better left to the imagination.
