DemOne i think you have put some time in reading and learning about your body!I have to say well done! You have your opinion and if it means something to you i encourage that.If your body can grow with 90 g of protein then you are good with that but understand that me and most of the people need more and more meals.I 've been in sport long time ago and k1 is my first sport and of course gym-bodybuilding.I used to eat 2-3 meals per day.Since 2 years ago i have putted 3 more meals and make it up to 6 meals per day.I feel my body works better when training after 6 meals rather 3.I have more energy and my rest time has reduce. Before i would hit 4 mmol-s in muscels after 1 hour of training today after 1 and half sometimes even more. And i've been trainin with juniors and make them eat more and less and in the one year they where much better with their perfomances as same as i was.Only one member in group i have noticed didn't feel anything different and his body weight stayed the same but that was only one in the group of 26 people.I am so glad that you are doing well with your training and that what you have found works for you good!If you ask me about protein shakes i don't use them anymore i have found out thaz i can eat enough true food without them. But i still use bcca and creatin because i have 3 training per day and app-5-6 hours of training in one day so i need energy to preform. Before someone gets confused about 3 trainings it's separate every one of them.Curently i am about to go pro and i am only 21 years old.So this works for me good and i am doing good.About myths internet is full of them but remember try everything and listen your body and you will find what works for you.And you have done that and it works for you-congrats!Now may i ask what do you do? I mean what sport are you in?

Most people don't need more based on their weight. That's all a myth about how much protein one needs by how much they weigh.
Motorcycle racing and BMX. Neither are as easy as they look.

Pro-fighter at 21 years old? Cool! :D I can imagine everyday being a fight for you with all those workouts :)

OT: 5-6 meals a day, 2-3 grams of protein per kg, workout 4-5 times a week targeting 2-3 muscle groups per workout.
If you don't get enough proteins in, use shakes.

If you eat enough calories through fat, you only need 1gram protein per kg of bodyweight to gain. Demone it is semi relative. anabolism is about caloric excess not protein excess

so if you are 110 kg, strive for 110 grams protein, but make sure you are eating a ton of fat. you will gain and have tons of energy. the amount of meals you have has nothing to do with recovery and energy levels during the day. your diet, and amount of calories, along with sleep, and levels of daily stress does.

Bingo. I was even taught (in college, not on the internet) that 1g per 1kg of body weight is too much for most athletes. Carbs, fats, vitamins, and minerals are more important to gaining weight than protein is. It's incredibly easy to get more than enough good protein in your diet.

It depends what body type you have.If you have trouble with gaining weight you must eat more carbs and fat rather than protein. It also depends on what kind of sport you are in.If you are in bodybuilding you must eat more proteins rather the swimming for example where energy last for about 20-30 seconds your body needs more fuel-carbs.DemOne is in bmx and motor... His body doesn't need as much proteins as my i am in k1 understand? If you gain weight easy then you will be reducing carbs but not to the minimum that is dangeorus for your body! And eat more p and f in your diet.

your weight fluctuations do not correlate to the type of food you eat. it goes by calories. that is all if you replaced you 130 extra grams of protein with a mixture of good saturated and unsaturated fats, you would not lose muscle.

the amount of carbs you eat is dependent on activity levels. the amount of fat you eat is dependent on whether you are trying to lose or gain weight. your protein intake should be a relatively fixed number.

i try to keep my protein at around 100 grams and my cals around 3000 for maintenance. when i want to cut i keep my cals the same or maybe 200 lower, increase the ratio of carbs to fat to handle to extra frequency of training (increase in activity levels). when i want to bulk, i increase my cals to about 500 to 1000 over maintenance (including adjustement for extra cals for training) and adjust the the ratio of fat to carbs heavily in favor of fat

You cut with only 200 calories down from the 3000?That is good man,i wish my body reacts the same as yours.I am eating app-4500 to 5000 calories per day just to maintain with my bf.But i have a lot of activity...This whole thread about fat and proteins make me curios, maybe i'll try to put more fat less proteins and see the results.Going to eat like that for 2 weeks(this is more than enough for me to see the changes). Thanks guys i hope this works for me because it's easier for me to eat more fat rather proteins.I also have exams and my day is quite filled with obligations so it's not ease to cook 5 meals.

Here's some more food for thought for you: everyones body actually reacts the same way as far as calories go. You have your resting metabolic rate and your activity level so you must eat a certain number of calories to stay at a certain weight. And then there is a 400 calorie "set point" that you can be in where you will not gain or lose weight (around 4500-5000 for you). Under or over the set point, every 250 calories a day is 1/2 lb per week. So if you eat 250 calories under your set point each day for a week you have lost roughly 1/2 lb. If you eat 500 calories over your set point for a week you will gain 1 lb. This is a universal rule for all people.

Anyways, yea it's a great idea to try it out! Just make sure you're eating healthy fats, not just any old fat. I'm sure you already know that though. Good luck! You're going to feel hungry if you go from 5 meals to 3 watch out!

What are your "good fat" choices guys? I eat 8-10 almonds with every meal right now. Is that cool or are there better sources? Thanx.

Brazil nuts have the best form of saturated fat for nuts , and pecans have the most unsaturated fat for a nut other than macedamia, which arent as nutritious.

for someone bulking these should be incorporated. almonds are great but they are a lower calorie nut. not the best for bulking, which seems to be the topic of this thread.

nuts dont quite stand up to seeds though. i eat a semi crushed mix on all my foods that includes, almonds, pecans, brazil nuts, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, quinoa seeds and walnuts.

sparingly used higher fate content fishes that are low in mercury are good too in moderation.

coconut, avacados, and olives are also great sources of fat
