I'll bet if you polled house to house, more people would recognize the name Rafiki than Gary Johnson.

Probably (with the exception being New Mexico where he was Governor for 8 years), but I would bet the same would be said about Romney and maybe even Obama. People always know more about pop culture than they do about their own government or the people running it. So not surprising at all. But to your point, yes Johnson has little name recognition but only because it is a self fulfilling prophecy that the media ensures.

What??? I can't believe Romney is winning.

Do you want another retard like Bush again?? He hasn't got a magic wand to sort the US economy out, it's a global recession. Like he said in his speech he doesn't care about 47% of the US population, so if you are an average or poor American you're well and truly fucked. He'll make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

A retard like the one in office right now? I mean if Bush was bad (and he was terrible) then I don't see how anyone could think Obama was an improvement, all he did was put Bush's terrible policies on steroids. Romney would certainly suck too, but not for the reasons you stated (Obama and Romney would make the rich richer and the poor poorer since they both support the Federal reserve system and monetizing debt), Romney would basically be Obama2 except he might be slightly better on economic issues and taxes. He would still be a disaster on civil liberties, war, social issues, executive power, transparency, spending, and pretty much everything else... but seriously he couldn't do worse than Obama on any of those issues.

Though I think Romney would be a lightly better President (though still horrible), I would actually prefer Obama win a second term (assuming Gary Johnson doesn't stand a chance), for two reasons. First, I am assuming the GOP will keep at least the house and maybe even take the Senate (not likely), having a split government would be ideal, to ensure nothing got done, if the Dems were to somehow take both chambers and the white house though that would be SCARY (same if the Repubs capture all three too - think 2000-2006). The second reason, and more important in my opinion, is that everyone knows Obama is a big government liberal, so when his awful big government liberal policies fail again for 4 more years, the country will realize just how intellectually bankrupt big government liberalism really is, if the big government liberal that is Romney were to take office and implement his big government liberal republican policies which for some reason people think are actually small government free market then the small government free market policies will be blamed despite no actual small government free market policies being implemented (think the big government liberal that was George Bush - still blows my mind people think he was a small government conservative when there wasn't a single policy during his term that could be thought of in that way).

Gee what part of " no comments" did you not get? Can't we just have a simple vote without a whole political diatrabe?

Not possible. Also, don't see what the point is if you can't discuss the issues.

Discussions about religion, politics, or what color underwear BigO wears ( if any) always ends up in an argument. We have a unique population here and I was interested if our population matched the rest of the countries. Who knows maybe if we had a good poll we could be right up there with Gallup. I can just see the everning news now; Gallup has Obama up by three but the PEGym poll has Romney up by 6. Kind of cool!

99% of the time I get in discussions over those issues (minus the underwear thing) they do not end up in arguments and I have spent a large portion of my life talking about such issues (have my masters in Poli Sci). If you can't talk about such things than there is a serious problem. Discussion is always and everywhere a good thing and no one should be afraid of it (just make sure there are no name calling or things like that).
