Looked at myself in the mirror today and things are smaller everywhere that I want to be smaller. One of my managers actually asked me if I lost weight which I guess means it is noticeable to others.

Oh I sure will. I am hoping to be 275 by the end of the year. I bet my 100 bike trip will make me lose 10 lbs. alone.

Biked for the first time in 3 weeks and I am pretty sure it isn't the tires causing the problem, but my pedals and gears. It is definitely time for a new one as this one is on it's last legs.......er wheels. When my next batch of money comes in it is time for a bike that fits me properly, wheels that are made for my type of biking, and rims that are made for my weight.

This is what I did, taken directly from fitocracy.

No exercising the last week. I was in the hospital for......*sigh*.....emotional problems and they lost my clothes so I couldn't even go to the gym there. Sodium rich foods is not exactly good over 5 days (first 2 days was ER food and that was actually decent). Going to have a big pizza today and since I have no work until next week, thanks again hospital, I will work it off over the next few days.

Well good luck on getting back into the swing of things as it can be difficult but you know it's worth it. I've been a pretty lonely person lately but I know when I start my job as a server and hopefully find a second job I will make some friends or at least be around people which I generally like.. I always have more energy when I'm around people unless I can't stand them but generally I like the majority. It will be my first server job and I'm looking forward to gaining more comfort with meeting and communicating with people I don't know. Plus the more opportunities I have to meet people the more likely I will be to make friends and possibly meet a girl or girls to casually date because I don't want to seriously date anyone until I graduate and have a steady job in sales or marketing(my major). But it's easy to sit at home and self-pity but I know it won't help me be happy to sit and eat junk food and play video games and goof off on the computer for countless hours. It takes persistence sometimes to put yourself in a situation to be happy and confident so keep your head up and stay strong and know that it will pay off even though you might face some let-downs along the way you will make it where you wanna go if you keep trying... now that's just my situation and I'm not 100% familiar with yours but I just want to let you know if you keep working at your goals that you will reach them. Keep it up man and good luck.

I won't get into it much, since I don't want this thread to be about my personal issues outside of getting into shape, but I will say this much.

I will keep working at it. Yes, I am lonely, in more than one way, but I like my life style and what I do. Sure, I can do it a little much and not experience life, which has been the norm because of my circumstances, but all I can do is move forward and do what I can to be better than the person I was a second before. Getting my license, getting back into school, exercising, eating right, and getting a job, those are just the first steps to me finally liking myself some more.

In all honesty though I think I am just going to forget dating for a long while, in any form. I am just not good in that area and not into the scenes that would make me more available in that area, so I am just going to throw that idea in a box and not touching it for a long while. Nothing wrong with being alone.

I get what you mean and some people enjoy being alone the majority of the time and I want to forget seriously dating until I have everything else in place including friendships so I don't feel like that girl is my whole world because that's what helped wreck my last relationship and made me clingy and high-maintenance which no girl likes after a certain point.. maybe a tiny bit is cute but after that it's all downhill. But do try to experience life.. it's something I regret not going on my high school senior class trip to Italy or joining more organizations at my university which has over 800 clubs in addition to Greek life which is not for me. You only get one life so live it in a way that when you're on your deathbed you are happy that you went out and tried new things or whatever it is.. don't hold back.. someone once said you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I know it's easy to get complacent in a routine and be "satisfied" but you can always do more up until a certain point. I'm 22 and if I don't make the best out of these next few years I will regret it for the rest of my life.. since I had cancer I've been very very closed up in myself and it's hurt me the past 2 years and I can't let fear of getting sick or fear of rejection run my life.. I have to just let go of the negative energy and press on toward happiness and toward self-actualization if you believe in that maslo's hierarchy. And there is definitely nothing wrong with being alone and not dating in any form if that's what makes you happy at the time. Keep up the good work.. Idk if I could bike it like you could.

Oh there is a good shot I could die while doing this bike ride, like anyone else I guess, but if it happens then oh well. All I can do is train like I want and need to so I can complete it and get home safely, or at least not horribly.

Success! I had bought a new pair of jeans right before I started working and it didn't quite fit all that well, so I decided to buy them anyways and make them a reason to lose more weight. I tried them on today and they fit, really well actually, and they still have almost an extra inch or two of room that I can stretch the waist line. Guess I have lost more than just 20 lbs.

Nice job man.. I'm a believer in using weight but also measurements like waist, chest.. etc to track improvement.. it's specifically big to concentrate on losing waist circumference as higher waist circumference is a precursor of diabetes and heart disease.. plus a smaller waist makes you feel better physically and mentally. Obviously too small is bad but most of us have a long way to go to reach too small. Keep up the good work you'll be amazed at where you are in 1 year if you do.

I don't know if you're doing this, but I'd be taking progress pictures as well. Would be a nice think to see like 1 year benchmark for yourself.

I have thought of that, but since I didn't do that from the beginning it made me not want to do that, but I probably should do it. Although I would be a little embarrassed to post them here, mostly because of the stretch marks I have because of this extra weight. Which is also something I need to work on getting rid of.

I will be getting my new bike this weekend. I can't wait to start biking again on a bike that fits and tires that work better for what I will be doing.

Going to lose all this weight and look all sorts of sexy and irresistible, especially with my PE I will be changing in a lot of areas.

You don't have to post them, it would be more of a "Damn, I've really come a long way" type of thing. And that's a good attitude to keep in mind. Have you thought about experimenting with a new wardrobe perhaps when you're nearing your goal? Which, what is your ultimate goal weight anyhow?

I took pictures and measurements before I started my workout journey back in April. I'm kind of not worried about too much of that right now.. really focusing on running a fast 400 meter dash. I hope your big ride goes well when it comes.

True, it doesn't hurt to take note of some progress every month or two though.

I haven't had any thought of a new wardrobe at all. I just figured I would wear the same clothes like I always have and continue to wear the ones I have.

My wardrobe usually consists almost all of blue jeans and plain black t-shirts, nothing fancy at all (no tuxes, no nice shirts, no nice pants, nothing of that sort). Hell, the only reason I have shorts is because it makes exercising so much easier on my legs.

Frankly, I hate any of that "nice" stuff. Restricts my movement and makes me feel uncomfortable, which is a problem if I ever have a date.

The only measurements I took was.......actually I didn't even take my weight down when I first started and only learned of my weight like 2 months later when I finally bought a scale, so I bet I weighed even more than 320, which was my first thing. I have no idea how you even measure waist line or any other things like that.

The picture thing I should do though.

New bike has been achieved *Zelda item music*.

I actually got two. One was so tall that I went 3 miles before it got uncomfortable from the pure height that I rode back and exchanged it and got me my new one which is comfy and a little lower.

Basically my day looked like this.

Walking:

1:20:00 || 5 mi (+257 pts)

Cycling:

0:45:00 || 6 mi (+76 pts)
1:00:00 || 5 mi (+96 pts)
0:45:00 || 8.6 mi (+180 pts)
