While the fasting is probably a good idea, I am pretty sure they have been doing stuff like that for a long time and know what they are doing, while I am just doing this to get rid of a lot of excess weight and might be a bit too extreme for me. Although I really should put more work into researching all of this and trying a little more in the food area to understand it and doing more for it.

My bottle of water is just a normal bottle of commercial water (like Dasani and that sort) that I use over the course of 2-6 months.....no, I don't wash it. I like to be able to carry it around in my pocket and they fit perfectly, although BPA free (note: I have no idea what it is, just that it is bad for some reason or another) is better I just find them more cumbersome.

Yes, I am a complicated fellow.

BPA is a xenoestrogen aka it acts like estrogen in the body and is much more potent than the phytoestrogens in soy. BPA has been linked to hormonal imbalances that in men can cause weight gain, infertility, development of breast tissue, and certain cancers.. you should really consider BPA-free. If you continue to ignore your diet and stuff like BPA free you are going to have a much higher chance of developing cancer before you're 50. During High School although i ran cross country and track and was in great shape and got 4-5 servings of fruit a day I ate a ton of processed food and drank from plastic water bottles that were bottled water bottles many times daily.. at age 19 I had developed cancer. Now it's always your choice but you should be aware of these dangers. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men in the US will have cancer during their life.. America has one of the highest rates of cancer in the world due to poor lifestyle and so much food loaded with preservatives and things that knock hormones out of balance.

On their fasting they have only been doing it two weeks.. they got their plan here: The Leangains Guide | Intermittent fasting diet for fat loss, muscle gain and health

Here is them: Intermittent Fasting Leangains Martin Berkhan - YouTube; Cutting Update Intermittent Fasting "Natural Bodybuilding" - YouTube

Well I had no idea that BPA is that bad, guess I will have to pick up something better for me then and look into this fasting thing at least a little bit.

Indeed it is.

Might as well look into things like that and if I find something that works for my weird comfort then I might as well.

Heat was crazy today so no exercising and I ate pizza. Definitely not the healthiest thing today.

In all honesty after I got out of the hospital I haven't been all that keen on exercising for some reason, even though I have had the last two weeks of free time because I am not allowed to work right now. Maybe part of it was the end of my sex buddy relationship I had going too, which has had it's odd effects on me for some reason.

Things are starting to look up. I am pretty sure I have some sort of depression and am taking steps towards getting help with that. I met someone, long distance again and her situation is certainly not normal, but we both think this may work and if not then we had fun anyways. I actually did some exercising today, since I needed to run errands and this is what it looked like. I took it easy for just getting back into it. Cycling: 0:25:00 || 3 mi (+36 pts) 0:25:00 || 3 mi (+36 pts) 0:08:00 || 1 mi (+10 pts) Barbell Bench Press: 73 lb x 15 reps (+54 pts) 73 lb x 10 reps (+51 pts) 73 lb x 10 reps (+51 pts) Barbell Squat: 73 lb x 10 reps (+44 pts) 73 lb x 5 reps (+38 pts)

Well I shall try. I am trying to get my sleep schedule under control again. This depression hit my sleep and I feel tired even after sleeping for 10+ hours and I don't like that.

Well Cusp it looks like you should kick my ass. I haven't done pretty much anything, and I mean anything with exercise, work, or much of anything else, in a month since I got out of the hospital, although the one thing that has happened is that I met someone.

Try anything to get me moving. I think I need some sort of medication to help me with some of these things finally.

I put on 15 pounds in one year, I feel so fat :( Can't wait to get my gym membership though, really excited about the prospect of being ripped like skinny jeans on a fat booty!

One year? I feel like I have put on that much in the last month, I don't want to get anywhere near my scale.

15 pounds of fat is like drinking one can of cola daily. (the amout of calories from sugar will stack up for 15 pounds)

I have lost 22 pounds just by cutting out cola, butter, suggar and salt. No excercises included.

I am trying, like today I had intended to go to class, but that didn't work. It took me forever to fall asleep, things on my mind and all, and I guess I forgot to set my alarm because suddenly it was 4 p.m.

I really need to get my sleep under control so I can start everything like normal.

High protein and low carb is the way to go man. You literally don't even have to exercise, just monitor your food more closly. If you can get down to 30 carbs or less per day, you will lose weight fast. Of course this can be hard if you don't have any willpower, but it's simple for me.

I just eat lots of chicken/fish/steak/eggs and avoid breads/pastas/sugar, throw in a bit of veggies (no potatoes or other high carb veggies) and you will lose 10-15 lbs in 2 weeks. I do this once or twice a year depending on how much weight I gain and I always lose 12+ lbs after just 2 weeks.

I prefer low carb to low calorie diets because the weight loss is much faster, and I'm not left feeling hungry 24/7 because I'm only eating 900 calories or whatever a day. You can eat as much as you want on a low carb diet, just don't eat any carbs.

Staying away from carbs in my house is a pretty tall order since there are basically two different meals, meat or pasta. Which is why, at least when I was watching it, my meat and carb intake were incredibly lower since I get so much of it anyways.

Dontrike i'm going to chime in on your thread here. Just want to give you some encouragement. I myself need some body transformation. I really could use some weight loss too. They say running is the best calorie burner. Well for someone like me who is 6'4" 270lbs with a bum knee. Running seems to be out of the question. This may seem crazy but what I do for some cardio is jumping jacks. Still putting force on the knee I know. I've been watching what I eat except for this week, I am on vacation, but that is no excuse. I have a gut and my goal is to have a six pack instead of a keg. You see, to me personally I think abs are the sexiest thing on a woman, besides her rear end. I also think abs on a man is sexy too.

I see that pasta is maybe a weekness foryou in your home. Same here in Louisiana. We have the best food in the world period. But i have been trying man and what I want to tell you is. Don't give up! I eat a good breakfast. Due to the fact that the first part of my day at work is. GO GO GO! For lunch I cut back some and for dinner I usually just eat a salad with some chicken breast that I grilled. Also I try not to eat after 6 pm. Keep at it my friend you are going to make it.

To everbody else. I know this is dontrike's thread but. If anyone can help me out with some suggestions it would be highly appreciated. Hope you don't mind Dontrike.

Any information they tell you can probably help me as well so it is alright, I don't mind.

My depression really affected me this last month after my hospital visit and I am taking active steps, got me an appointment for a psychologist and it is probably time I go on some sort of medication, even if I am not proud of that.

I really will need to get my ass moving if I want to do my bike trip. While I may not be able to do 100 miles I should be able to do 50.

Starting tomorrow I will be getting back into training for my bike trip, which will be September 22nd. It is one week sooner than I had intended, but oh well.

I think I will leave my house at 2 a.m., rather than 4 a.m. like last time, and with a new route I won't have to walk the same amount, plus I won't get lost and one of my breaks shouldn't break this time part way through.
