I'm in the same boat as you my friend... The only difference is that it's worse for me. I'm 19, virgin, never kissed a girl, never hugged a girl, never had any chances, nobody has found me attractive, and I actually haven't had a proper conversation with a girl ever that I can remember. (I don't talk a lot, I'm one of those guys who are very silent, and don't say much at all). Obviously I've talked with women, but that would be only for a very short period of time like if I get asked a question or something (then I would just answer with 1 sentence and it would end...)... I never start conversation so I guess that might be the problem? Forgot to add that I don't really have friends, I don't go to parties either...
I guess we can conclude that I'm pretty awkward in real life. Damn.. both me and my first women are going to suffer in awkwardness because of my extremely little experience with women at this age. At this point I really just wanna get laid, would get such a better confidence around women. (Problem is that this won't happen in a few years...)
Well TNG2…you and your ongoing pity party have really done it now…you’re making me play my “mommy card”. Just like all the members on this site, I care about you (Yes, we really do!) so I am going to give you a reality check; consider it a little tough love. Ready?
I understand that you are frustrated about your current sexual and relationship status, but beating yourself up about all your perceived shortcomings is not going to get you out of this funk. Wallowing in self-pity is only compounding the problem , it is keeping you stuck. (and not making you a whole lotta fun to be around) You need to start seeking solutions to what you consider to be your personal obstacles and BEGIN doing them. If what you choose to do, doesn't work; try something else. Keep at it until you achieve your desired results. Remember there is no failure; only feedback. If you need assistance then simply ask someone for it. The key is to start doing.
Remember:
A)
You set an outcome.
B)
You monitor your results you get through feedback.
C)
You vary your behaviour until you get your outcome.
You. You. YOU!
Now to help you on your way, let me clear up a few things for you:
Girls are just as nervous, self-conscious and unsure about how to approach guys as guys are about approaching girls. Girls are not something to fear; they are very similar to you; except they probably smell better.
Girls tend to be more intuitive than boys which means they are quicker to respond to (and be turned on by) the energy/vibe of a guy than by his looks alone. Keep in mind that your vibe is affected by your own thoughts and feelings. Crappy internal thoughts; crabby vibe.
Your obsession with “getting laid” is not only placing undo pressure on yourself, it is a vibe that a girl will likely pick up as well and she will be running in the other direction. Having sex WILL happen so stop worrying about it and instead focus on building connections with these girls first.
You stated that you have difficulty talking to girls. Let’s clarify that shall we? It is not that you are uncomfortable talking to ALL females (you do talk to your mom and female relatives, don’t you?) So the actual truth is likely that you have difficulty talking to girls you are attracted to, right? Well, one solution that can remedy that is to begin by talking to girls that you are NOT sexually attracted to. That way, you can practice your conversation skills on them without trying to understand all the sexual signals/feelings as well. When you become more comfortable, then move on to chatting with a girl you find attractive and would like to get to know better.
Now, speaking of chatting; people often have difficulty talking to others because they are too much inside their own heads; listening to that inner critic and that causes self-consciousness. Do you want to know the secret to those people who are comfortable talking to others? Instead of focusing their thoughts on themselves, they focus primarily on the other person. They also know to ask the other person questions and listen more than they talk. Ironic isn't it? To be considered a great conversationalist, you need to listen more and talk less.Trust me; people love people who allow them to talk about themselves. This is true for both girls and guys.
Finally, you have mentioned that you are often ignored. Well if you don’t want to be ignored, then don’t be. No one owes you their attention (that’s a bit arrogant don’t you think?) so if you want people to pay attention to you, then you are going to have to say, do or become someone that they want to pay attention to. You are also going to have to create an “approachable” vibe. Don’t worry, these are all learnable skills and there are many ways in which to accomplish them but you must take action!
OK TNG2, I’m putting away my “mommy-card” now and hope that you will give what I have said some serious consideration…
Hugs.
