Should I use my Bathmate or my fleshligh brand air pump for pumping? I have been using bathmate a lot, but it doesn't seem to suction as well as my air pump does, leaving me to feel as if I am not getting enough suction (meaning less gains). Can anyone help me figure out exactly how to use to Bathpump, and if an air pump is a similar (if not better) substitute for the Bathpump?

(Sorry if a thread like this has been made before.)

Bathmate definitely. Try to use it without the comfort pad, gives better suction. Try to avoid losing to much water also and always remember to lock the valve after each pump. I used to struggle with it but now I do every set without even an air bubble.

Are you not tired of taking a shower every day? It's starting to get incredibly tedious.

no least I will smell good lol I just have a 5 min warm-up shower fill tube, turn shower off, use bathmate, take bathmate off, put shower on, warm penis for 1 min, fill tube, turn shower off, and repeat for as many sets lol then I do my jelqs sitting on the toilet then I jump in the shower for warm-down.

Air all the way if like me you do it first thing in the morning your groin is warm then, so you can go straight in to your pump, but of a nighttime I do jelqing and cranks in the shower after I warm up, then into the pump when I come out, and yes the pressure is far better but don't over do it start at 40 then slowly go to 50, take it you do have a pressure gage, if not get one with a gauge look at the break bleeder pumps on Amazon, get a decant one.

Air pump can be used anywhere without concern of making a mess. I actually use my pump in bed a lot. Not sure about a gauge on Bathmate, but I feel a vacuum gauge to control the vacuum level is essential.

There's no gauge with the Bathmate but it's designed that it doesn't pass a certain intensity. The vacuum slowly releases then you need to pump again. This is a pro and a con. Pro because it prevents overtraining and con because you can only reach a certain intensity level. I do feel like the intensity is completely effective though.

The Bathmate Xtreme series can be used for a more intense pump. What I like about the Bathmate is that it keeps your penis warm during pumping which I believe will aid in gains.

As air pumpers we always warm up before we pump, its a golden rule, just the same as it is for doing PE exercises, and as air pumpers we do know not to go to high as its not very good for us, you get endema, and that we don't really want.

Best thing is as N2B said far less messy, in fact no mess and you can go where ever you want to go, and its nice to be outside in the sun get warm and then pump which you cant do with a BM? why simple, you don't need water you can just lay there pick up your pump and just pump, cant do that with a BM.

I've never tried but I'm pretty sure you can use BM as an air pump too. Shouldn't be pumping outside anyway unless you want to get arrested for public nudity lol If someone is experienced with an air pump then it may be more suitable for them but for the unexperienced, an air pump can be too dangerous and the point I was making with BM is it gives you moist heat during pumping similar to the benefits of heating during hanging and it is also more effective along the whole shaft. A lot of air pumps have more emphasis on the base.

It's what suits people most though. I've used an air pump back when I had no experience and I couldn't get hard for a while after that. This one had no gauge though. I like the Bathmate so it's just my preference right now.

Just wanted to give a bit of clarity on the air pumps having more emphasis on the base.....

With air pumps, the air tends to cause more suction and basically pulls most from the base along the shaft.

With water pumps. The tension is caused by the water itself and basically pulls along the shaft and the glans. This is why BM is known for causing good glans gains.

Hope this makes sense.

EDIT: This might make air pumps slightly more effective in length gains than the BM.

I don't know about any tension in the water, but the key difference between a bathmate and air pump is that the bathmate uses a vacuum which is why you feel and see glans gains. Air pumps use pressure. Vacuum pumps are just as good, if not better for length since it's literally pulling on your shaft. With a air pump, you girth is expanding against the pressure being put in it.

They both use a vacuum.

Then if that's true, bathmate would be better. From everything I've read, that would mean everyone is confusing vacuum with pressure?

Bathmate is better imo. Lot of information if you search for Bathmate vs air pumps. According to research, hydropumps are more effective and safer than air pumps.

Also they are both vacuum pumps in a sense but you got it wrong way round. Air pumps use 100% vacuum. Water pumps use a combination of vacuum and water pressure.

Yes, most everyone here incorrectly uses pressure when talking about pumping. They also incorrectly use Hg as the increment of measurement. It's actually inHg. Hg alone simply means mercury.

That is incorrect. Everything exposed to a vacuum is under a vacuum including the water. Up to a point the water will not expand so it simple transfers the vacuum to the penis.

Makes sense. Pressure is a pushing movement so this means the water would be pressing against the penis rather than pulling like a vacuum would. I think because of the density of water, it would be more effective than air. Probably why Bathmate uses a safety release.

Careful, pressure might be expressed with a minus sign -20lbs, as unconventional as it is.

In the U.S., the common standard to measure rough vacuum is inches of mercury ("Hg), which can be measured in two different ways. One method is as "Hg gauge ("HgV), where the scale starts at 0" Hg (atmospheric pressure) and goes up to 29.92" Hg, which is perfect vacuum.

In the weather realm-
Inch of mercury is a unit of measurement for pressure. It is still used for barometric pressure in weather reports, refrigeration and aviation in the United States. It is the pressure exerted by a column of mercury 1 inch in height at the standard acceleration of gravity.
