Turtling. How bad is it?

I started another thread asking about sleeves to prevent turtling. So I got to thinking. How bad is turtling for your gains? Does it hurt them or is it just a looks thing?

I never turtled before I started PEing. So does that mean I stretched the skin and through PEing I can fill that skin with added mass? Therefore it is a sign of good things to come?

PS. I've always been a grower not a shower. That is another thing I hope the sleeve will help correct.

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks,

The general consensus is that turtling doesn't hurt anything at all. That being said, a lot of people swear that, for the sake of gains, it's best to keep the penis as plump as possible for as long as you can after each session.

As I recall in my efforts, the less turtling I caused, the nicer the flaccid hang; which is my preference. It does require adjustments in whatever PE effort I am using.

I thought that turtling was a usual sign of overtraining. Is it considered not overtraining in some cases?

Turtling is a neutral PI sign, it should be interpreted in light of the other PIs and how the workout went as well as the workload. :)

I've always assumed that it was a negative PI. So is the only way to know that turtling is bad for you is if it is prolonged or something? Like for hours?

I guess it goes to show that your interpretation of stuff can get rusty if you don't re-read things now and again. This will definitely help me out with understanding PIs better. So turtling is a neutral PI and not a negative one but is an early sign of potential overtraining? I always got worked up over if my dick turtles and thought it was always something bad.

I guess the case in this is that it's good to keep track of your turtling and see what your other PIs that follow like morning wood, achieving erections and other PIs and then determine that you are overtraining.

Thanks for the link, MrB8.

Turtling does not hamper PI or gains at all. Some will always fight turtling after a PE session whether it be intense or not. And, yes, most times turtling is the body trying to protect the penis. Most times this will go away after your body has gotten used to PE as a form of routine.

IMO, if you turtle for 2+ hours after training, you are over training.

Now if you turtle for 6+ hours after training, and don't end up with hard flaccid, consider yourself lucky.

I did turtle at first when I started but I also traction wrapped more so to help my ligs along for length. But it went away. Even with the intense girth routine I do being advanced, I don't turtle. Conditioning and building up slowly to any routine is really the key.

I am from the school that says if it doesn't turtle after a PE session, you haven't worked it hard enough. That being said, mine is back to normal within a few hours, unless I finish my session and start doing other strenuous stuff. I also believe that if you prevent it from turtling initially by artificial means, it will turtle after you remove the thing that was preventing it. I often do bundled LAS's after I finish, but when I finish those it turtles anyways.

Interesting. Well I turtle a bit usually after my workout and then it returns but sometimes I'll have a decent flaccid hang after my workout but that doesn't happen very often.

Turtling is one reason I started PE. Ever since I was a child, I always turtled. I always thought it was weird that I would grow 4+ inches when getting an errection. Now that I have started PE, my flaccid state is much longer. If I notice it starting to turtle throughout the day, I'll do some JAI stretches and it helps the Turtling issue. The bathmate has helped more than the manual PE with this issue, but from reading a LOT on here, there's no replacement for manual PE and gains.

in my case, at first I got scared by turtling, started googling my symptoms and even believed it was some kind of penile artheriosclerosis, that my cock would shrink for life...
but once I stopped stressing about it realized it's not that bad and, while not nice and very annoying, you can still gain, but in my case, to get less turtling just had to cut back on jelqing and focus on stretching and edging (much less stressing ecercises) plus, as soon as I feel any turtling, I start shaking and spinning my flaccid dong to keep blood flowing and make ir go away, that works better for me at least...
