Yes I have used them (cock rings). No ill effects to me... There are different types and sizes so if they/you have experienced problems is due to using on that was way too small. The purpose of the cock ring is to 1. keep blood in the penis to sustain erection. And 2. to keep the balls (scrotum) away from the body which sustains erection as well and prolongs ejaculation.
