She was thinking logically. It's easy to find things to hate on attractive guys, when you're trying your best to justify you leaving him.
I changed the list a bit so it reflects the general sources of attraction. Gray being irrelevant. Dark purple makes an attraction more intense but I don't approve of it.
PROS:
-he sometimes surprises me by cleaning or making dinner.
-he buys me things we both like and use
-he is funny and can make me laugh
-he tries to like the things I like (her snakes - he hates snakes but is making an effort)
-he's smart and educated
-he's good looking
CONS:
-he expects everything to be done for him
-he holds me back from what I want in life
-he is very irresponsible with money
-he doesn't understand me
-he tends to make me the punchline of the joke
-he is a bad listener
-he doesn't listen to how I feel
-he makes me feel bad about myself
-he has a drinking problem
-he doesn't clean up after himself
-he can't take responsibility for his actions and blames me for all
-he calls me names
-he doesn't respect my requests or how I feel
-he is insecure
-he yells and gets verbally aggressive quite often
-I cannot talk to guys
-daddy hates him
-as well as my mom
-I feel sexually/physically inadequate
-he can be physically aggressive
-he makes me feel stupid
-sex is like a chore
-he doesn't trust me
Purple is the exact reason why she stayed with him for 5 years. She's just looking at it logically to find an excuse.
Girls want approval. If she can't get it, she'll stick around untill you approve of her. I think, in this case, she just got a little tired of the chasing game, and she wants some approval finally, before she gets insane. But I think she is definatelly still attracted to him. Which doesn't mean she won't leave him anyways though, for now.
There is proof for this everywhere. I don't watch TV, but I heard recently that Katy Perry was begging some rock casanova on her knees, to take her back. I'm quite certain that it's not because he was buying her stuff, taking her to romantic places and cuddling her all the time. Also, Rhianna and that repper guy etc. I'm sure there are a lot more examples.
I'm just saying this so you're carefull of what you do, or she'll just jump right back to him, right after she gets some approval from you. I think that, the rough idea of what she likes is obvious, according to her list. Why would she stay with him for 5 years if he's that bad?
But you should listen to yourself. I'm just here to give an advice.
EDIT: Just a quick shortened story from my own workplace from yesterday:
There was this girl with her female friend, asking me some stupid question. She was probbably just looking for an excuse to talk with me because that question didn't need an answer. I made her look silly (stupid even) in a playfull way and both of them laughed their asses off. Then, they proceeded to finish the stuff they came here for, but at the end they had this "stupid" question to ask my coleage. I heard this, dropped the stuff I was doing and adjusted my chair to witness the show. The girl I teased, saw me doing this and laughingly said "Don't laugh at us!", I said "Of course not". Question was actually in place, but I proceeded to laugh anyway, because I found her insecurity adorable.
At the end, she came by, and flirtautusly (spell check isn't working) slapped me on the shoulder and said "You're mean! Why are you laughing at us?". I kind of gave her just a bit of attention but remained unimpressed and kind of uninterested. We chatted for 10 minutes, while she flirted more heavily by the moment, and at the end she gave me her number and left, because we couldn't go further... I was on my workplace after all.
This story goes with what I said above it.
EDIT2: Don't worry, I won't spam your thread with this. Unless you want to discuss.
