Hell that imposter in the White House and a few a few race baiting pimps are doing the same thing. All backed by the media that helps fan the flame.

So my neighbor who has a family buys a gun. My thoughts are. He is buying it to protect his family and his possessions. You see if my neighbor has a wife kids dog two cars in the garage. He is taking precautions for a future event he hopes never happens.

If my neighbor was to break into my house. First you ask who is it. If it is neighbor Bob hey Bob you're in the wrong house man what's going on. Get home. If Bob or an intruder does not identify themselves when asked. Well they entered the wrong house. Now I have to call the police. Answer a whole bunch of questions. Pull the carpet up. Clean up a bloody mess. And spend a lot of time trying to calm my wife and kids down because their sanctuary was disrupted.

So having auto insurance is convicting other drivers on the road that they are going to ram into me.

I pretty much feel like this. All of you across the pond are jealous of us Americans. Where we live in a country where we have freedoms (for now). You see that is why a group of people left over there. Because they believed that men are free. A freedom giving by the Almighty Creator Himself. So don't come bashing our freedoms and rights just because your country does not allow you the freedoms and rights that we enjoy.

Ok then. Call my plan for background checks, insurance.
Do you agree with it now?

You never know who it may be. That is why you have insurance.

You never who's gettingna gun. That's why my proposal would help insure things like this happen.

And like namso you collectively group everyone who disagrees with you into one category, Freedom bashers.

I'm so jealous, much rather live in a country where I need weapon to keep my family and me safe.

Why make it complicated when it really is simple. Bad people will always find a way to do bad things. It's been happening as long as man has existed. Caine didn't have a gun but he managed to kill Able didn't he?

I respect and understand your viewpoint on this, yes it is undoubtedly true that bad people are going to do bad things to each other, regardless of whether they have a gun or anything else on hand. However, I do not agree that guns should be given to anyone who wants one, just because we assume that murderous people are going find a way to get them anyway. These laissez-faire gun laws are catalysts to the inappropriate number of mass shootings in the USA. Just look at this "satirical" (remember that - it is not disrespectful) article which highlights the shocking number of mass shootings (i.e. more than one person targeted) This is not the sum total of gun related attacks in America this year POLL: What Is Your Favourite US Mass Shooting So Far This Year? | Waterford Whispers News

Yes it is true that people will still kill each other if guns were abolished, but it would certainly be difficult to harm as many people with as much effort as it takes to pull a trigger. The shocking number of mass shootings in America would undoubtedly be much lower if guns were only placed in the hands of those who are psychologically deemed fit to wield them.

You see that is why a group of people left over there. Because they believed that men are free. A freedom giving by the Almighty Creator Himself. So don't come bashing our freedoms and rights just because your country does not allow you the freedoms and rights that we enjoy.

Yes it is true that Americans are much more "free" when it comes to purchasing and obtaining a licence for a firearm, but I am in no way jealous of the horrifying number of shootings that occur in your country each year. I'm afraid that the right to own a firearm and the number of gun crimes in the US are inextricably linked, and the attitude that "everyone should own a gun" will not help the situation at all.

Where has the worst school shootings occurred? In the U.S? Nope!
Erfurt Germany 2002- 18 killed
Dublane Scotland 1996- 18 kindergarten kids and teacher killed
Winnenden Gramny-15 killed.

Sounds like it's not all that safe to go to school cross the pond!
Oh Colunbine in the U.S? Only 13 killed. guess you guys win!

Yes, but that clearly illustrates my point. Anders Behring Brevik was a psychopathic right wing extremist who had openly far right political tendencies and admired facism as a form of governement. Therefore, we have a responsibility to make it as difficult as possible for people like him to obtain guns. A thorough screening process is required.

And as a side note, that one incident does not justify the 142 recorded mass shootings in America over the past 6 months

1 example. Really.
Norway look at norway's crime rate, and murder rate to be specific. One of the lowest in the world.

I don't think Norway has anything like that horrendous list that Big 'Un just posted!

I've never had a conversation with anyone over here about feeling hard done by because we don't all own guns! Where does jealousy come into the equation...I don't get it?

We do have background checks. True they aren't as intense as some wish. The point is as has it has posted many times in this thread. It is the person not the object. If laws to get guns were intensified. More bad people would get guns and less bad people would not. Criminals do not obey laws. That is why they are criminals. They will find a way to get them. So stricter gun laws are just going to make it harder for law abiding citizens to have guns.

The gun law push by many is not to protect people from some crazy person. It is to control the people. If the people have no way to defend themselves. They have no way to defend themselves.

In your face
- Zug, Switzerland, September 27, 2001: a man murdered 15 members of a cantonal parliament.
- Tours, France, October 29, 2001: four people were killed and 10 wounded when a French railway worker started killing people at a busy intersection in the city.
- Nanterre, France, March 27, 2002: a man kills eight city councilors after a city council meeting.
- Erfurt, Germany on April 26, 2002: a former student kills 18 at a secondary school.
- Freising, Germany on February 19, 2002: Three people killed and one wounded.
- Turin, Italy on October 15, 2002: Seven people were killed on a hillside overlooking the city.
- Madrid, Spain, October 1, 2006: a man kills two employees and wounds another at a company that he was fired from.
- Emsdetten, Germany, November 20, 2006: a former student murders 11 people at a high school.
- Southern Finland, November 7, 2007: Seven students and the principal were killed at a high school.
- Naples, Italy, September 18, 2008: Seven dead and two seriously wounded in a public meeting hall (not included in totals below because it may possibly have involved the mafia).
- Kauhajoki, Finland, Sept. 23, 2008: 10 people were shot to death at a college.
Winnenden, Germany, March 11, 2009: a 17-year-old former student killed 15 people, including nine students and three teachers.
- Lyon, France, March 19, 2009: ten people injured after a man opened fire on a nursery school.

Now I am sure you really don't want me to find even more because the list goes on and on. What this thread has lost sight of is not the instrument that caused the deaths but the thought, the evil, of the one who committed it. Maybe we should focus in on what brings such hate or mental sickness and then we don't have to worry about the instrument!

Makes no sense. Less bad people would not? That's the point of screening and these checks.

The resentment held by many around the world.

You're just not getting it my friend. Not every gun in America is registered. Some are stolen and numbers scraped off. A bad person, if they want to is going to get a gun.
