Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider, 1981. Official video.
This tune features a haunting and gorgeous steel guitar solo. I'm not sure what else this Canadian band is known for, but this one is a true classic from the era.
He's got a very fine right hand and an interesting wrist rotation when he's switching strings during those lead fills. I can't touch his style of playing. If anything I have a knack for finger style. My flat picking is well....flat.
Check out Molly Tuttle and this analysis of her technique:
I became friends with Craig Chaquico former Lead Guitarist of the Jefferson Starship/Starship.
After Chaquico left the Starship and went solo, he was nominated for a Grammy in the New Age category.
I shot this video of him performing Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile"!
Chiquitita (Swedish language version) by ABBA. This Svenska version of this 1979 hit is a much better and shorter arrangement than the American market release. The impeccable harmonies are more interesting and clearer throughout. The choir during the chorus is absolutely gorgeous and stirring. Agnetha Fältskog is one of my favorite lead singers of all time. Such a talented group.
