My legs and glutes feel like they can handle another 10-20 lbs. on the bar, but my lower back unfortunately does not agree. No squats for a while.

So I went back to college this year. I joined a few clubs, most of which meet rarely, joined the LGBT club for the hell of it.... Stepped out of my comfort zone and joined the parade, I threw beads and waved.
I met with a few of the LGBT students on campus and talked to them about the club not doing anything. So, I suggested a showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on campus.
In just a few weeks I went from meeting with professors and deans asking for permission, to doing paper most of the work, to going to meetings talking about the movie and other ideas. It's in the works, but all the paperwork and red tape has pushed it back to next semester.
Long story short I'm taking over the LGBT club as president next semester. :yahoo:
And I'm straight, super supportive though.
Now I have to get everything ready for next year.... Movies, prom, bake sales, parade, parties, film festival, it's going to be awesome.
I just have to decide whether or not to tell my homophobic family at Thanksgiving.:biggrin1:

Haha nice one! What made you choose to the LGBT club? I always thought you had to be gay,bi etc to join

At first I thought it would be funny to tell people who know me I was a member of the LGBT club. But I also have a gay parent, spent a lot of time around the culture, and feel completely comfortable with the community, so it is not a joke to me. This really is the club where you can be yourself without judgment.
Later on, after talking to members, non members, professors, and the like who told me about some of the problems they were having at school I wanted to help out more. There's been some bullying by students and faculty with the transsexuals students, which isn't right, and of course the drop out rate is still high across the state with homosexual students. I ended up wanting to take over after seeing how little the is being done to raise awareness, give these students a voice and place to feel safe, sense of community.
No, you don't have to be lesbian, gay, bi, transexual, gender queer, or asexual to join. So long as you support the cause you are more than welcome. There are straight allies, like me, out there. Even married straight couples and proud moms and dads helping out.

I made an observation about myself. I seem to think of more interesting ways to die, as grim as that may be, than interesting ways to live. This isn't meant to be a depressing post, just something I had noticed. I tend to think of how grand it would be to do something amazing just before going out, like taking a bullet for someone I care for or stop something than how to figure out living the next life time before that. I gotta wonder what that means. (Again, not to be depressing.)

Inspiration or learn how to milk a franchise for everything it's worth? A lot of those deaths aren't really awesome, just some of the most cartoony and contrived ways you can go out. When I think about it I think of taking a bullet for someone and things like that.
The Chicago experiment has failed. How much longer are they going to continue allowing this! It does not work. They should give housing vouchers and resettle the people into cities throughout the country. Remove the project housing and make parks or commercial buildings. It's been done all over the country. Even here where I live. Why is this way of life still going on there. This kid was failed long before he was killed. How can a majority of children have a chance when surrounded by poverty crime and no hope. These cops have lost their sh*t. Impossible conditions. RIP young man.
100% Landi. It's horrifying to me that people could be so indifferent. And then the WS coming and shooting people and essentially "getting away with it" for a while.
I have to really push away from it. It's hard to swallow sometimes.
In more positive news, though...

Something is finally going right.
The office manager again tells me today that the owner of this multi million dollar company couldn't be any happier with me. My skills are on point, my timeliness in work completion is impeccable. My work ethic is damn pretty good.
I'm just so happy, We agreed to pay a higher salary if I made it 3 months, when I was hired. I'm hoping they bump that salary up some more than we originally agreed upon LOL!
I can't wait to buy my mom a car, and to finally fix my car. I've been dreaming of getting her into something nice again for a while.
My mom insists I need new tires, but I can still see the essence of tread on them and there's no steel showing so I'm good LMAO. A whole set of tires in my stock size would be about 500... I can buy another set of wheels (some that I've been pining for secretly)for several years for the same price (Since I already have the tires to fit the wheels)
And I can get them any way I want (even though they're discontinued).
I really just can't wait to replace the SUV my mom used to have. Once I do that, knock the payments out fairly quickly I will then square up on my car and get it right... THEN...
might start compiling the parts and start getting stuff ready. I want to get some "land" in my name pretty soon here so I can start building my tiny house.
*sigh* I'm dreaming so big, LMAO!

The entire story of this young man has me in a mess. How his mother who lost lrgsl rights to him got five million dollars is beyond me. This child was failed badly from birth. The projects don't work in Chicago. Major cities have called it quits and resettled the families. Give them a chance. The LE can't do this day in day out. They need rotation to decompress. It's gut wrenching.

Well, the post by Cusp of the passing of JonPop really sorrowed the mood for the day. Thought I'd post here rather than spoil the beautiful tribute to a great man. I admire the kind of person that can touch so many, each in a unique way yet never having actually met any of them. I could only hope that I can leave such a lasting impression when my time comes.

Had a cataract in my right eye. Dr. said I was a rare case for having one at a young age. You are not old Landi. Just unique like me.
It isn't that bad the procedure. They are constantly numbing the eye before and the anesthesiologist gives you an oral dose to calm your nerves down a few minutes before. A few days before the surgery you are going to have to put drops in your eye. Like I say a peace of cake. Plus I had Lasik surgery before and I feel like I have a bionic eye. I can see real good now.
Don't be scared.
