I wondered when I would get to the age when I wanted my parents to live with me. Not because it was my time to care for them but because I miss them.
That time is now lol
I wish I had them both in my house. We had so much fun when I was their child growing up in their house. My mom in particular is so bright and funny. I'm missing out on all that. I used to see for several days a week but I'm too busy with work. It's been three weeks and I'm aching.
Problem is she's gotta a husband haha so she can't just move in. Lol
My dad is kinda funny but what's so great is the projects we do.
We get into the coolest projects around the house. I'm a total tom boy when he's around ( as I was when I was a kid). I miss that.
I need my parents. I miss my parents. I need parental tlc and need more time with them.
Time to make some calls.

good idea... spent the day doing some mandatory yard work yesterday, today she went off with her sister for a fun day while went to try and re-establish my Car business by handling a customer. When we came back it was chill mode. Love hanging with my mom

Got my wish. One here for two months. Other coming soon for a month. Both divorced from each other but still can hang out together in same house with me ( separate rooms lol).

Ps. I see my mom every week for several days a week. But this past month been so dang busy haven't been able to travel. Just that four week almost killed me. Yea I'm old and still need my mom. What? Lol

I know it isn't the best of ideas to compare yourself to others and what you do, but lately if it isn't the hardest thing to do. This got me thinking though, in this day and age where social media is a thing and you can learn the status of just about anyone and anything how hard is it to not do that?

Now I am one that doesn't quite enjoy seeing others succeed while I believe I fail, as it tends to only drive that thought further. Most days I just go "eh, good for them", but when you have things like Facebook you tend to see that everyone suddenly is having amazing day(s) or week(s) and you look back and think "Well.........I can blink, and I guess some can't so I guess I should count myself lucky".

It does become quite difficult to not compare yourself to your peers when you see constant "I have the best girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife", "My kid is amazing", "My parents are great", "My job is fantactic"/"Got a new job", or just the usual things like that which make someone really look at themselves and think "The hell am I doing wrong?" Now most of the time that is what people will want to really let people know, which means that you don't tend to see people at their lowest, unless you are like me and put it out there because you're some sort of moron, so folks see more and more the good rather than the bad and believe that others lives are leagues better and then believe theirs to be not so great in comparison.

I guess the point of this is to say that it is rather difficult to not compare yourself nowadays when information of others are so easily known nowadays. The thing is though that it is basically the only way to feel close to others, especially if they live far enough away, as if you are not part of the social media, even just so you can talk to one another occasionally, you feel isolated if your friends are few and if your social structure is weak.

I don't know, this is probably a small rant and some various thoughts.

All I can tell you is, that you never have to compare yourself to anyone. Each person is unique, and everyone experiences good and bad things in life. But, with Social Media we tend to only show/mention the positive things, and as a result we start comparing. We are almost fooled to believe that life is only about the positive things when in fact, you need to learn from negative things aswell. What matter is that you are happy, and feel that you are doing your best.
