Why didn't you ask her out?

Mostly just chickened out. I see her post a lot on facebook about dating not going well and didn't really think that going to the movies would have been all that interesting. Add that it would be my first date I think it was just mostly nerves getting the best of me.

We used to work together and I asked her out back then, about 3 years ago, but she was dating someone at the time.

Also curious about the girl.

I'm very cold. I wish I had a blanket and some kind of fire like heat source.

Sure is cold everywhere. On my end it is single digits with it feeling like -20 to -30 with the wind chill.

I say give it a try, you won't lose if you do, may lose if you don't, and maybe you'll like your first date, try everything at least once. :p :becky:

Go for it, there's always a first time for everything. :)

You gotta go for it, regret is far worse than rejection...and we don't know if you would even be rejected!

Oh, and this may just be my opinion, but never go to the movies on a first date. A first date should be a fun shared experience so you an build a foundation of things you did together.

Thanks MrB8. I was thinking about asking after my current wallet depletion situation is over.

I have heard that the movies are not the best, I just have no idea where to go in this small town of mine.

I think everyone should abide by the unwritten code that once you meet and hang out with your SO children or family, no matter what happens in your relationship that may cause its demise, you must bow out gracefully.
No temper no insults no drama. Just bow out.

No this isn't going on with me, yet. But I see where the rejected person loses their sh*t. That is just not cool

Glad you're thinking about going for it man! Women are just humans with bumps up top and higher voices. Definitely nothing to be scared of usually unless they're dual wielding a frying pan and rolling pin. The movies isn't necessarily a bad first date if you're very shy and want a prolonged period of time where speech is unnecessary and/or 'accidental' boob touching happens (not your fault if you're allergic to carrots and have really bad night vision, right? Ignore me. I've not slept for a while.) In all seriousness though, if things go well, you'll probably be wanting to reminisce all about that deep connection you felt the first time you went out together. Whilst I still think of my first date as my first triumph in romantic success it's still mostly just memories of fumbling tongues to distract from some awful movie.

Thanks for the advice. I do have an electric blanket but I've got a condition that causes problems with my circulation so being outside in the winter is a necessary evil that makes me whine.

Most people need that bitter catharsis at the end of their relationship. I was very angry with my ex's cousin when we split up. Mostly because he was fucking her, but still.

Is it poor circulation?

Cayenne Pepper and exercise are good for that, and more.

Definitely don't need a woman dual wielding anything, unless that stuff is something awesome. Like some nerd stuff, whatever that may be.

I just figured a movie would be easiest, what with me being so shy and being uncertain about how interesting I can be for so long. I also would need something I can get to easily, as my transportation is quite limited, which the movie would be easiest. I suppose after said movie I could come up with something else minor, like coffee (even if I don't drink it).

IMHO, Bowling is the best, low-pressure, first date in the world. Why? Because you can't take anyone too seriously (especially yourself) when they are wearing borrowed bowling shoes!

Now that you have that complication out of the way, relax and have fun rolling the ball!

Here is the possible outcome:

1-you roll the ball and accidentally knock-down a bunch of pins. Happy high-fives all around.
2-you roll the ball and accidentally fail to knock-down any pins. Sad high-fives all around.

Afterwards, buy a pizza and talk about how poorly either or both of you bowled then talk about other stuff you do better than you bowl.

Result, you both relax enough to become yourselves and have fun doing so. You break through the barrier "should I or can I touch her yet" by high-fiving all night. And your voice, expression, and touch are associated with a fun and relaxing, no-pressure event.

Then the next date is doing something she does better than bowling.

This right here sounds like the perfect kind of first date and is what I was looking for in my other thread. Fun, lighthearted, shared experience. Very nice :)

That does sound like a great idea. There is bowling close enough and pizza is close as well. I haven't bowled in years myself, but I guess that will be alright.

Now how do you think something like someone my age (26) not having a car and needing to bike to said places? How do you think a date would take something like that?

I have never been in that situation or on a date before but I'll try to give it a shot...

Personally I don't think it would make a too huge impact on the entire thing, especially if she lives close to the area as well. (would probably be a bit bad if she has to take the bus or if it would be difficult for her to get there) But because of this thing you need to do a better job on the date than a guy who had a car, you see my point?

She is in a much better place than I am and could drive around herself, but I do see your point, not having a car is definitely not much help in the dating arena. I would be the only one needing to take the bus, asking for rides (not asking from her though), or riding my bike (my primary mode of transportation).

So I returned home today after spending ten days in Houston, Tx working. Now I now that there are a lot of crazy people in this world but I have come to the conclusion. All of them are bred in Houston and they just ship them off to other parts of the world.

It is so cool to think you know your child, then you are told something by someone else and you are overwhelmed with a warmth of "wow, that is who I thought he was, wow, he really is that great of a person"
I love him so much. What a great son I have. Hope that lasts lol The kid is not perfect but his "bad" was our (his parents) best so we give him a pat for everything lol lol

Love Love Love

Well done on raising such a lovely son

My life is busybusybusy. I have all the opportunity in the world and a lack of willpower. I'm sure chocolate and fizzy pop isn't classed as brain food.
