That's one thing I would never do, and that's date somebody from work. Some companies have policies advising against office fraternizing, etc. Besides most of the girls where I work are old enough to be my daughters.

Not something I've ever done... but honestly not something I think I would avoid. I guess it depends how closely you have to work together... and breaking up could be tricky of course.. Though if I worked with my ex, I think we'd probably still be on speaking terms, unlike now. As I say, not something I've done so feel free to ignore me and call it the ravings of a madman!
You do have a point there. The break up could cause a whole host of problems in the work place, not to mention the gossip mill at the water cooler. Not ravings. Common sense mostly...

Dating someone from your work all depends on how often you see each other, if it's daily and often I'd say it's a veryyyyyyyyy risky move to make but if you don't really see each other because you mostly work different days or in a different area it isn't a big deal.
I'm getting a little better in that department. My biggest problem is what interests me bores people to death, so I've been reading, and listening to other people's conversations soaking in what I hear so I can be reasonably conversant on things other than history and genealogy. I can almost bluff my way through a chat on football and I don't even watch the stuff. LOL When I do talk to women I try to show an interest in what they like by asking questions.
In my business that's kind of risky. I actually had a female customer who was into me. When she came into the store she'd give me that I want you look. She's a painter for one thing. Besides from what I heard from another store, she could have hurt me physically. Yikes!
We used to have a 20 year old girl that worked with us for awhile who would actually laugh at my jokes. Everyone else thought she was a "space cadet". LOL
