Not to be too nosy, but for what reason are you taking medications? In the past, I nearly took them but I refused to as there were many side effects. One of them includes gaining a severe amount of weight.

I was diagnosed with depression. I thought it was bullshit, so I left without taking any medication. Surprisingly, I'm still alive.

By the way, can you squat ATG (ass to grass)? Deadlifts are also a very good exercise!

I have been diagnosed with depression, and had anxiety, for a long time now and while I have tried non-medication areas to get rid of it, but it didn't work so I am seeing if medication is the right way for now. I guess I have less of both of those things, but that doesn't do much for my negativity, which I am starting to think is my problem. The side effects have gone away besides being a little quick to become tired.

By the way, can you squat ATG (ass to grass)? Deadlifts are also a very good exercise!

Can't say I ever tried the first one, but I do go pretty low with my squats sometimes by accident and as for deadlifts it isn't possible in the area I workout in as the ceiling isn't very far away from my head, probably only a few inches away. I tend to like working out away from other people's sight, besides the farmer's walk which is impossible to do anywhere else.

I may not, but this is just a trial for a while, after all I tried to kill myself last year and I haven't been doing well in school, both with going to it and doing it, so after a couple, more or less, failed attempts without pills and while having a, more or less, successful attempt with a behavior counselor I thought it may be the time for it.

No working out the next couple of days, I am back on a pill they took me off of and now I am at the right dosage and I am waiting to get used to this one, which is for my anxiety, again. Yesterday I was definitely not up for much. I am looking forward to bumping up the weight and will probably start at 10 reps max and work up from there. Looks like the next highest weight will be 67 pounds.

I just went through my weights and I have...

1x 10 lb. curling bar (this is what I have been using)
1x 44 lb. barbell
2x 4.4 lb. weight
4x 5 lb. weight
4x 8.8 lb. weight
4x 10 lb. weight
4x 14.3 lb. weight
2x 25 lb. weight
2x 45 lb. weight

So I have options, although the barbell may be too big to do the farmer's walks with, but I shall see how that will happen.

I have to wonder if bumping it up higher than the 67 would be a good choice or not.

Did you ever get to the pool dontrike? Doing some workouts where there is no impact on your joints could be a welcome addition. Also the fact that you used to swim when you were in school, you may find that youtake well to it.

How are you doing with the food side of it? Also, how tall are you? Congrats on the recent progress. :)

Thanks for the congrats.

I never was able to find a pool outside of the YMCA, but that would have been $30 a month and I didn't have that type of money and I still don't.

Food has been about the same, but better at the same time, sure there are the pizzas and what my step-dad calls "white sauce" which is just alfredo made his way, but I have been making more rice, chicken, and vegetables, so I guess it is slightly better, but still could use a lot of work.

I would invest in a jump rope, they're underrated, can be used virtually anywhere, great for the shy person not wanting to workout in public, full body exercise, good for cardio, coordination, and weight loss. You can do circuits or high intensity interval training with them.

Great workouts if you push yourself. Only cost like $8

Just seen this post. I'm cutting weight atm pre-fight i'm pretty tired. This is my life when i'm cutting fat. Maybe it may help you.

When i'm cutting weight. If done properly the 1st week will be stagnant maybe 1kg change but only due to water salt an less food but the following two weeks will most likely lose 1-2kg a week. It will continue but I prefer to stop level out then repeat I find the 4th week muscle drops more than fat. So yeah,

9am rise - eat bowl of bran flakes... only 2 single handfuls... 10am 5 mile run...

11-12 after a shower tryna space out eating cos being starving is horrible... I get 50g of Scottish oats an microwave em then make a protein shake half full in big shaker then when oats done put shake in oats an use hand blender finely blend it an drink it... using 1% milk so its giving u some carb an protein basis to get through the day an still workout later but no sugar an fat so weight still cut...

come lyk 3 aclock blend 2 bananas into a protein shake then gym at 4 ish - I'd really recommend the stair master... its a great fat burner... go on it yeah an put on fat burner plus... fat burner plus programme... level 10 shud b ok for 30 minutes... ur quads will be tired ur body will be hot an ull sweat buckets its great for fat burn but not cardio... all the machines are sh*t for sick cardio but thtas the best one ... rowing an runnin obviously awesome... but if ur gona row u shud do intervals... really good cardio... try beat my 1000 metres on 3.13 ;)

6-7 have a main meal.... not overload but this is the time when u get sumet decent... wholewheat pasta, whole grain rice is a must as it will sustain ur hunger throughout the evening more effectively... rice an tuna or pasta n chicken... watch what ur putting in tho... light mayo with some sweet chilli or bbq sauce or some seasonings but no full fat mayo or curry sauces ect...

bed time.. I go at lyk 10-11 ish an its horrible being starving an I prefer to have sumet small crash dieting is bullshit... u pile it back on... u cant train hard an u hold onto fat an eat into muscle... again to sustain ur hunger a tiny bit before u go bed blend two bananas again into a protein shake...

Well done on the rice, try to make it brown when possible,- but imo white rice is far better than white flour/bread/pizza.

If you can try and eat 1oz of wallnuts with their skins intact each day - very good for your health ~ combats metabolic syndrome.

I don't know if this counts, but my work out yesterday was me helping my aunt move over 5 hours. I guess since I am sore it counts in some way.

If dontrike is over 300 pounds, I'm going to suggest against the jump rope. Swimming pools, on the other hand, are pretty damn awesome on the joints.

No need to do anything else if you spend 5 hours moving boxes and furniture or something similar. Remember lifting technique still applies. :)
