After 2 dopplers what do you think a third will do? You are convinced you have an injury; the doc is not. Tests seem to be on he docs side. You don't want to believe it. Sadly with that mindset nothing will ever change and sadly it's your choice. Funny if one test showed you had an injury that test you would believe; the 2 that says you're fine you won't believe. I can't help here; good luck.

Spot on.
A doctor is not there to optimize your erection quality.
The doctor cannot make you healthy, only you can do that.
The doctor cannot make you believe.
Dopplers and ultrasound on the penis are very high tech and thourough proceedures,
They will not fail twice.
Your thread suggests that you feel your doctor is not interested in what you say. Its actually the other way around.
Two Dopplers should be enough.
In reality it is more than enough and he has gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Somewhere your doctor is on a medical thread with the title:
When will our patients actually listen to us?
You have definitely not been neglected by your doctor in the slightest.

Orome, are you in the UK or do you have to pay for all this treatment?

Did you read what he said?He did not get a proper erection following the injection (which is unusual). Without rigid erection for an extended period of time (up to 40mins) doppler study cannot be performed properly, and it is impossible to evaluate resistance index which either rules out or confirms venous leak, that guy is so concerned about. So despite having partial doppler study done initially, the study of RI could not be assessed at all. Therefore the study did indeed fail.

So it's clear he needed a higher dose which again highly increases the risk of priapism and the docs, at least in the US due to liability I assume, are rather reluctant performing it. Unless he has complete impotence with no response to traditional medication, which he does not, this test is purposeless.

Yes, I did see a very positive effect from powerful when I first took it, but it seemed to have a diminished return when I took it on a regular basis. I don't know if it's just developing a tolerance or what. In fact, the night before I had the 2nd test I took PowerFULL before bed (3 capsules and I hadn't used it in a while) and I woke up in the middle of the night with a full erection which doesn't happen often. It didn't last long, but still the erection I got that night was better than what I was able to get with the injection.

I have talked with other guys that know more about injections and they all seem to say that is a relatively small amount.

But how does knowing that help when the problem is not achieving but maintaining an erection? You can't have sex if you can only keep it up for 30 seconds.

Because his issue is in his head and not in his dick.

How many docs does one go to before one realizes the problems somewhere else. By keep reinforcing that he has a physical problem makes him believe it is physical. You do not wake up with a hardon if your dick is physically broken.

It is nothing strange to think you have a physical problem for as long as it cannot be ruled out. Again the doppler could not be performed to rule out VL. You can definitely wake-up with an erection despite having VL, some people can even have sex despite it.

One thing is for sure. No doc under any kind of circumstances can tell this guy there is nothing wrong with his dick, only this guy himself can know for sure whether there is something wrong with his dick or not. Not being able to maintain an erection and not responding to injection definitely does not make it easy to convince yourself that there is nothing wrong.

And I highly doubt that unless he is able to get doppler study performed properly, he cannot get over this. Which is perfectly fking understandable.

He woke up with an erection. How long did he have it for before he woke up?Well no one knows but the minute he woke up and his brain woke up it went away. Now if the doc did the same test on this guy when his brain wasn't working I bet you he would have had a great one. Just keep telling this guy his problem is physical because that's just what he wants to hear.

I am not telling him it's physical nor mental because I quite simply do not know. Trying to convince him otherwise would not only be misleading but waste of time as he knows it very well that not I, you or the docs can say without being able to conduct the Doppler study that there's nothing wrong with his dick.

Once the doppler study confirms hopefully that everything is fine, then it is probably possible for him to get over it, taking that it is not neurogenic either. But I certainly would not blame him in this situation for not just accepting it's all in his head.

This knowing thought is in his head. The relative anxiety and certainty against all evidence, such as spontaneous nocturnal erection, is also in his head. So much of this is in his head. He can choose to pursue physical options forever, but again that choice is in his head. The choice to consider the mental health aspects of this in any way is also in his head.
I can think of not one reason not to pursue help with his mental, emotional health. Especially when you suggest to him that he needs to accept that his dick may never get hard again and that is what his life will consist of. That acceptance is also in his head. He needs mental emotional help, and you continuing tonargue against that make me think you should consider the same approach in your own life.
In my life therapists have helped a lot for things that are in my head.

There is a reason why docs consider nocturnal erections to be best indication between psychological and physiological ED. Psychological ED does not affect nocturnal erections. Not having morning wood does not mean you would not be experiencing nocturnal erections. If you are healthy and your hormonal levels are fine, you will be getting nocturnal erections. Exhaustion, infrequent sleeping pattern or lack of rem sleep can affect them, but porn itself will not.

Ok Zee your words from a few months back. So this guy gets nocturnal erections and it even woke him up.

I agree, I think he would benefit from it. All I have said that he shouldn't go there to be convinced that his dick doesn't work because of his head.

The whole issue I have is that if a young guy happens to have organic ED, he is fucked. All he gets is it's all in your head go do some yoga and enjoy life - without porn, you'll be just fine. That's going to make him feel helpless.

So if a young guy gets an organic type of ed and we know there is very minimal successful treatments wouldn't it be better to give him hope than just saying you're screwed for life?

Ok Zee your words from a few months back. So this guy gets nocturnal erections and it even woke him up.

Read even more back and you will see I am trying really hard to convince him it's impossible for him to have VL when besides nocturnal erections he is claiming in this very same thread maintaining an erection for 10 minutes. Although when he said it was not without aid, I assumed he was on meds.

And again people with VL can too get nocturnal erections and wake up with them, they are just either not fully rigid or they substitute quickly. This is a fact, and this guy is aware of this fact. So I don't see how come the nocturnal erections would convince him any better. And it probably doesn't help knowing that it's under debate how relevant NPT erections are to VES erections anyway.
