DIY Shower Strap for Bathmate

I saw a thread somewhere about making a do-it-yourself shower strap for a Bathmate, but now can't find it. Someone had mentioned taking the BM in to a Home Depot type place and sizing an O-Ring for around the nozzle and then attaching a cord to it.
Rather than taking mine into a HD, thought I'd see if anyone had already done this and if so what size O-Ring fit, and how they liked their DIY shower strap.

Seems like a guitar strap with a slit cut into each of the leather ends would work better.
