So, I'm very familiar with the Cartham Study by Dr. Brian Richandson from the 1970s which has been quoted and referenced in many books I've read and mentioned in countless places including here and Thunder's Palace. It is supposedly the first scientific study that provided documented proof that penis enlargement through stretching and exercises is possible. The problem is that even with many hours of searching I cannot find the study. The best I can find is quotes from the study and countless people mentioning it.

Does anyone know where I can find the original? I'm starting to think it is a fabrication that keeps getting passed down as truth.

Hey NBSPE.

The results were said by Dr. Brian Richards in his book The Penis to have been "sent to" the Lancet, the British Journal of Sexual Medicine, and the British Medical Journal. But the results of his so-called Chartham Study were never published by any of these journals despite himself being on the editorial board of the British Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Let's just leave it there.

I don't have a copy of the study but did read data on it some time ago. He used a combination of different methods including devices to achieve results.

Here's what we have available:

There's also the following:

Dr. Richards was also promoting the "Penitone Course" at one time. Little about it appears to be available on the net now.

Thanks guys, that's very helpful and explains a lot why it cant be found. Gary Griffin's book is likely the best reference available.

Gary Griffin's book went into 9 editions. But they all include all the same information about the Chartham Method you will find on the Internet. Dr. Brian Richards's book The Penis (1977) was Gary Griffin's source, but Griffin also bought the Penatone Course from Richards company in the mid 1980s too. Both Richards and Griffin give a description of the method. It's bascially a combination of milking massage (aka jelqing) and pumping. If you have a hard time finding these books, I'm happy to quote some passages from them here for you. All editions of Griffin's books are sort of gay culture collectors items and are ridiculously priced. But sometimes you can find good deals. Richards's book The Penis is rare but shouldn't be as pricey.

That's really good to know. I haven't read "The Penis", I'll add it to my reading list if I can find it.
