I've been as a loss, trying to collect my thoughts over the tragic events in Charleston and elsewhere. This psychopath wanted to start a racewar, he wanted to pit black against white and have us at each others throats. Let's not give this TERRORIST, even that benefit. I want you to go hug your friends and neighbors, regardless if they're black, white, gay, straight, police, "thug", Asian, native american, Latino, furry or brony. We are one human family and it's the only one we have and we can't let a few dysfunctional members spoil the gift that is the human experience for all.

And the Lord said; "Thou shalt not kill"! End of story.

Maybe the US need to consider the gun laws and the right to bear arms?

Wish we had that right. Not the guns, but a nice pair of bear arms would look lovely on my wall.

Nice! So, tough guy...you think that fruitcake would have been able to kill all those people with a fork?

P.S. You're welcome to try! :assassin:

No doubt it will transpire that he had some kind of mental illness. However, if access to guns wasn't so easy in the US then maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't have happened?

If I had no gun I would use a knife or make a bomb or use a bat or beat them with a steel pipe or run them over with my car or make a spear out of a stick or use a hammer or a screw driver. The point is that it is not guns; it's bad people.

I appreciate your point of view. We have a lot of knife crime in the UK, mostly youngsters and gang related. However, I hate to think how much higher the murder rate would be if they had easy access to guns.

I'm very happy living in a country where guns are illegal...I can't say that I felt so secure walking around Florida with two young children not knowing that every other person might have a gun stuffed down the back of their trousers!

Making it more difficult for people to legally own a gun, would only boost the trade of illegal firearms. It's simply just bad people doing evil deeds.

Chicago, Il probably has the strictest gun laws in the country. Check out their murder rate.

You say you didn't feel so safe walking one of our Florida cities. Let me tell you I rather be walking around a city where people have the right to carry. Some dumbass who is planning on doing a gun crime. Has no idea who else is carrying. So I am thankful for those every other persons as you say carrying a gun.

And like Cusp said. I can kill you with a pen or a can of tuna. Anything can be used as a weapon. It's the person not the inanimate object the does the deed. I have a gun in my nightstand and til this day it hasn't shot anyone in my family. I even have one in my truck. Guess what hasn't killed anyone yet.

I appreciate your point of view but I just don't get that argument. You can legally own a gun in the UK if it is properly registered and you have a firearms certificate....problem solved(ish). There's no need to have a firearm unless you're up to no good or pretty stupid.

I don't believe anyone is born "bad"...the same as no-one is born with a fear or phobia...it is taught or learned. However, people can be born with a mental illness or disability.

Frankly, Cusp's argument doesn't stack up either. It takes a lot more planning to build a bomb than to spray a room with bullets. If I were given the choice between defending myself between a knife, bat, steel pipe, car, spear, hammer, screwdriver or a gun I know which one I wouldn't choose!

I also appreciate your point of view, but I still don't get it. A pen and can of tuna aren't meant as weapons...guns are.

i read a story a few years back that 90% of the murders in one year in Washington DC were committed with one gun. Ballistics evidence. One guy didn't run around killing 100 people, obviously a gang owned gun shared with many. I guess the U.S. Should take everyone's gun away so only the gangs have them.
