How to Improve Your Self Confidence

confident manWhen I talk to my girlfriends about what qualities they find most attractive in a man, there’s always a wide range of responses. However, more often than not, one quality comes up…

Confidence.

Note, there is a very thin line between confidence and arrogance. In fact, it’s sometimes hard for us to determine between the two, which is why the arrogant jerks of the world sometimes initially attract women. Of course, once we get to know those guys a bit more and realize they’re on the darker side of confidence, we often leave. But, for those men who are truly confident, without the self-centeredness of arrogance, these are the men most women want to hold on to.

Confidence is sexy as hell! Have that confidence in your professional life, and it’ll help you there too!

So, how do you improve your confidence? Keep reading and try these tips!

Confident Body Language

There is an old adage — Fake it until you make it. This is actually a truism when it comes to improving your self confidence!

There are several body language cues that people naturally perceive as confidence. Make eye contact with people you’re talking to, especially when you’re listening to what they’re saying. Stand or sit tall, pulling your shoulders back — don’t slouch. Speak slowly and clearly. When we speak quickly, it comes across as being nervous. Speaking slowly and clearly will make you appear more confident, plus ensure people understand what you’re saying. Lastly, smile!

Speak Positively to Yourself

If you’ve ever watched old episodes of Saturday Night Live, you may recall the Stuart Smalley Daily Affirmations skits. Despite the humor, there’s truth behind this type of positive self talk. What you tell yourself about yourself is what you will become. Go beyond the Little Train that Could and throw away, “I think I can.” and replace it with, “I know I can!”

If you catch yourself saying, “I’m just no good at XXX.” or “That was stupid of me.” or anything else similar, stop! Change – “I’m a lousy tennis player.” into “I will become a good tennis player. And this is how I’m going to do it…” and then make a plan how to get better at that skill.

Also, be sure to compliment yourself. When you do good, give yourself a mental “Atta boy!” Focus mentally on the things you do well, and you’ll find yourself in a much more positive frame of mind.

Fail Forward

Know that there is no such thing as failure, as long as you don’t stop trying. Instead, that failure becomes simply one more step toward reaching your ultimate goal. When things don’t go the way you hoped, instead of beating yourself up over it, celebrate it! Each failure is an opportunity to learn! Tell yourself you did a good job, even if it didn’t work out. Remember – always fail forward and you’ll never fail!

Knowledge is Power

We feel more confident when we know the subject at hand. Never stop learning. If there’s an aspect of your current self that is making you feel insecure, like penis size, knowledge can help you gain confidence! You may learn that you’re actually above average in size. Or, you can learn sex positions that are perfect for smaller penis. Or, you can learn how to do penis exercises to improve your penis size. Don’t just accept your insecurities – learn more and become more confident!

Take a Positive Inventory

Sit down and make a list of all of your strengths. What are you good at? What qualities make you a good person? Are you loyal? Are you kind? Are you a hard worker? Are you compassionate? Are you helpful? Again – talk positively to yourself and really give yourself credit for all of your good qualities. When you’re feeling insecure, review that list and remind yourself of how amazing you truly are!
