Will You Still See Gains If You Hang for Less than 10 Hours a Week?

Hi, I just finished JP90's beginner routine and would like to start adding some length. Hanging seems to be the way to go to achieve that, but it seems very time-consuming with 10 hrs/week being the recommended exercise time. Could I hang for an hour every other day while continuing jelqs, and see solid results? Or is that too little time and I should look to manual PE exercises for length gains?

An inch and 1/2 deeper than before
Most say that 10 is the target for hours however I think every other day can work for some. Try it for a while and see. It is a form of stretching after all and if you do it I would recommend manual stretching on the off hanging days.

I am thinking about doing light hanging every second day, or 3-4 days a week. Just because my progress has seemed to slow down dramatically with my current routine. If you are doing other forms of PE on the other days along with the hanging I reckon you would see gains.

I think you should just bite the bullet man and hang every day.. I know it sucks and you'll have to make sacrifises in certain parts of your life, but if your serious about getting longer than i dont see a way around it..

For me. Manuel stretches are great at cementing and maintaining current length. Hanging every other day just isnt enough.

but thats just me.

Hmmm, good points. I think I have to buy a chair with a hole in it or something because standing up for all that time while hanging is a pain in the ..., well you get my drift haha ;)

You just sit on the edge of your chair and it hangs down without touching anything. I hang every day while I sit at my desk, on my laptop. It couldn't be easier! If you want to do btc, you just rest your feet on the desk, kick back and watch an episode of something.

With regards to the original post... I think the main point of hanging every day is so your ligs don't have time to toughen up as much. I wonder if manual stretches cause the same sort of stresses as hanging. I doubt it.

I've been doing PE on and off (mostly off) for about 8 years and never really got anywhere with it. Anyway I've been hanging for just over a month now and it's the best, easiest, most convenient method I've ever tried - and I've tried them all! As long as you have the privacy which I didn't for all those years. I've not made any measurements yet but I can tell it's working.

Wow, this is truly the inspiration I needed to start hanging! Unfortunately, my makeshift hanger at the moment touches the ground when I sit on this chair, I need to get a higher one or re-adjust my hanger. I definitely have the privacy and I work from home too, the ideal PE set-up!

I've been hanging since around mid march. My hanging time per week varies from 5-10 hrs per week. With most weeks being closer to 5. So far all I've gained is 1/8"-1/4" Bpsfl. BPEL is actually measuring about 1/8" shorter than before hanging. But I do feel like my flaccid hang is consistently better and when I look down it appears so much longer lol

I love hanging BTC just laying on my bed and watch movies on my tablet I reach fatigue within 20 minutes in a one hour set where if I hang straight down it takes a lot longer about 45 minutes. If I were to hang straight down I would do swinging to reach fatigue a lot sooner but btc is my favorite.
