Please let me know if I remind you of a anime that you may have seen. It's about pirates/ or a ship crew that go from island to island looting, don't harm innocent people, the main protagonist is a muscular guy who always has a band on his head, they have their own little island as their safehouse. I think it was during the 15/16th century but they had guns (I think) but mostly swords..It was for children too so no mature content...It was a series.
