Lower back pain and pelvic pain can be a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction. Do you have any of these symptoms as well?

[h=2]What are the symptoms of PFD?[/h] Symptoms of PFD include:

  • Urinary urgency, frequency, hesitancy, stopping and starting of urine stream, painful urination, or incomplete emptying
  • Constipation, straining, pain with bowel movements
  • Unexplained pain in the low back, pelvic region, genital area, or rectum
  • Pain during or after intercourse, orgasm, or sexual stimulation
  • Uncoordinated muscle contractions causing the pelvic floor muscles to spasm

That's from this website on PFD > Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction, IC and Painful Sex

Yes I have all those symptoms that you mentioned of the pelvic floor, Sitting down for hours at a time causes a "I need to ejaculate feeling in my penis and results in constant back pain." My pelvic area is extremely sensitive and I almost feel like I am going to pass out if I put pressure on it too hard. However this doesn't explain the somewhat red and raised area at the tip of my penis that is very sensitive. The need to ejaculate feeling and slight redness at my tip I thought was from some kind of STD but all test results for anything like that have came back negative.

I feel like I will need to suggest to my doc on what I have as most people are absolutely clueless any of this even exists, It makes me feel very hopeless. I do have the hard flaccid thing going on too though, is that associated with the pelvic floor?

At 22 my back feels like 70, I am sure that walking with a limp and playing very rough sports at a hundred miles an hour like basketball on a torn ACL hasn't helped. I do not walk the same like I used to and have completely had to re-learn how to run/cut/jump with the ACL tear because I cant put too much pressure on my left side or the knee will just tear again.

NO atrophy occurs. I have had hf for 5 years. and i still measure at 6.75 bpel when i get my best erections. (though they arerare)my girth is unchanged too.... due to the fact i used a cock ring to check mygirth. with a cock ring it expands to 4.75. before i had hard flaccid, i could get my girth to 4.7 naturally withouta ring. . . plus, a ring only adds a bit to your max girth anyway. this means it gave me .05 more girththan i would get if my erections were normally at full potential again... there has been no atrophy. it just seems thatway as it is very difficultto get the smooth muscle to relax so the dorsal vein dusnt seal, making it so that your glans dont expandas they usually would, and you lose girth while havingthis cuz your spongiosum wont hold blood like it used to either. But fix hard flaccid, and all this goes back to normal...

Yes hard flaccid is associated with the pelvic floor. Here is a post by Captain Johnson that sums up what to do about it.

After relieving the pelvic tension, HF will disappear. HF is mostly a symptom of pelvic problems. After the pelvic tension is gone, it is a good idea to exercise your pelvic floor to regain your former strength. At first, you should just focus on activity that uses those muscles, such as sports, running, and sex. Keep doing pelvic stretches and massages to keep your muscles relaxed. Watch for PI's:

If you experience pelvic/inguinal tension, pelvic/inguinal or leg fatigue, pelvic/inguinal discomfort, pelvic/inguinal pain, limited pelvic joint movement, trouble urinating, and/or trouble defecating take a break from pelvic exercise and put your focus back on muscle relaxation techniques.

As you continue to get better, adding a kegel/reverse kegel exercise regiment might be wise.

Great ways to lower pelvic tension:

1) Physiotherapy
2) Yoga
3) Posture exercises
4) Massages
5) Stretches
6) Warm baths
7) Alpha-blocker medication
8) Prostatitis supplements

i got some questions

1) my erections have gotten worse since the begging when i had hf...is this normal? (there super weak)
2) i can get a hard erection if i take cialis, does this indicate venous leak?
3) how much does posture, and yoga contribute to getting hard erections again?

Well my penis in hot water or while on alpha blockers seems to retract and almost go inside of me and while I'm walking for long periods of time my penis seems like its was ice cold and parts of my legs were as well

What is this I've been in pt since April and am still not healed I mean I have seen some positive results though my penis is still messed up and smaller then it was before

im thinking that this is because of the ischiocavernous any thoughts or input would be nice

Something interesting I have noticed...

Before my HF and recovery, when I ejaculated, I used to experience shrinkage afterwards. HF changed this, and after I came, I would experience an increase in HF and a constrictive feeling in my shaft. Since recovery, I have found that after ejaculation, zero shrinkage occurs. Actually, my flaccid looks pretty damn swollen and there is extra blood just hanging out in my equipment. It looks pretty awesome, kind of like what I expected to see after some PE and an edge session. I don't think the onset of my HF and my venture into PE were mutually exclusive.

I think this goes to show just how much tension impacts us. Prior to my onset of HF, I had high tension in my pelvic floor, and I think this provides some evidence as to what occurred. It seems clear to me that high pelvic tension, while not an issue itself, can lead to chronic pelvic disorders that those free of tension will not have. This seems to match why individuals who have initial pelvic tension and practice PE are more likely to develop HF. This is completely hypothetical, but if I am right, it means that people should check if they have high tension before attempting PE and then try to solve that first.

This would characterize hard flaccid as a type of injury that, while not exclusively related to PE, can be caused by PE by not properly attending to your pelvic health. Penis enhancement exercises commonly focus on the health and safety of your penis, but it should also be noted that the initial health of your pelvic floor can and will impact your PE success and safety as well.

So your recovered now of hard flaccid? Could you tell us how long this took? Is it completely gone i.e. as it was before getting the hard flaccid condition. What was the turning point?

Its not back to the way it was. My erections were stronger and thicker then, and my erections also had greater stamina (which I seem to be getting back finally). After I recovered from hard flaccid, these tiny issues lingered, and I figured it was due to remaining pelvic tension and muscle weakness. Well, I was right. I am still dealing with it and I do stretches and exercises every day to help my pelvis.

I have outlined my entire journey through hard flaccid previously. I used two separate drugs, one was an alpha blocker the other was a prescription muscle relaxant, and I also used a prostatitis supplement. I saw a PT once a week and did the recommended exercises and trigger point techniques on myself. I spent a lot of time focusing on relaxing my pelvic floor, both through light meditation, and while going about my day.

It is close to a full year since my issues started, and I hope to be 100% better by the time my one year anniversary as a member here rolls around. I am just starting to lightly experiment with PE again too, and I hope to be back at it by the new year.

Congrats on your success. Sounds likely that youll be fine in time. So do you ever get HF anymore?, I imagine a little bit is probably natural.

May I ask what the specific brand of muscle relaxant was that you used??? Yeah I use the alfuzosin and find it the most helpful, along with a bit of cialis every now and again. I used amitryptline for a while, side effects took a bit getting used to but they really calmed down the pain and pretty much eliminated premature ejaculation, even after coming off them. They calmed the nerves and therefore the muscles it seems.

Thanks for the info.

Ok guys I would like to share something that could help you immensely it's called cupping. I have been doing this theropy for just a few months and have seen improvements. It's a form of acupuncture theropy that removes the bad blood from your body and has been practiced for over a 1000 years. The effects are great like better erection quality due the improvement of blood flow around the body, and so much more. I'll keep you guys up to date when I start working at the front of my pelvis. I've only done a few sessions around my back and bum and I have seen improvements. I hopefully will soon start to do it directly on groin area witch will god willing end this nightmare of a condition. :D

Though to be fair I did have hard flaccid and no longer have it though my penis is still messed up like I'm not getting proper bloodflow

How long did it take to completely lose the hard flaccid? Can you remember what it was, if anything, that really forced it to go i.e. the cialis?

Well I wouldn't say I'm healed my penis doesn't go hard when flaccid, though it is still messed up, I often wonder if I have broken penis or some other penile injury along with pelvic problems , though my Doppler test in march said I had no damage

i believe most of my trigger points lie deep inside my rectum and me clenching I believe is really holding me back,

i believe my problem of cpps is mostly blood flow as sometimes both my penis and testicles are very chilly so I'm thinking that my penis is almost like being pulled in and by elimanating the trigger points and stop clenching I at this time believe my penis will return back to its normal state and for the record on my bio feedback machine my tone is higher then normal and rectum is still very tight so I'm hoping all my problems will go away once this is fixed

and uk to answer your question go to a pelvic floor specialist and do stretches found in Amy stein heal pelvic pain or some other stretches and you should be on the right track

I had hard flaccid, but now I have almost no trouble. Some of the (simple) things I did:
-Stop masturbating. Completely.
-drink a lot of water
-after I pee, rub my fingers along my shaft as if I am trying to squeeze the last drops of pee out. This not only squeezes pee out, but also relaxes muscles.
-Cuddle with my girlfriend. I had never really been intimate with a girl (not even cuddling), although I have done my fair share of masturbation (sounds sad, haha), and I noticed that I actually got a boner just from holding hands with her! I think this is because my body was used to masturbation, and totally NOT to real contact.

I am 99% recovered now. I didn't use any medication or nutrition supplements. I do however want to add, that HF only occurred to me for two or three months. Oh, one last piece of advice: whatever you do, DON'T PEE IN THE SHOWER! It sounds silly, and maybe it's just me, but HF was completely gone for about a month, and after I peed in the shower, it came back (not as bad, though)

Well guys I'm starting to wonder if I have developed buried penis I have gained a tremendous amount of weight since the injury and I have read that pelvic floor trauma can cause burried penis so I don't know though I will be checked out my urlogist next time I see him

Though I'm also wondering what exactly is the reason for the tight scrotum I sometimes experience any one have any insight on that

though to be fair I do have a a lot of pelvic floor tension and I believe a lot more trigger points on my bulbospongios, ischiocavernous, and perinenal region though my pt seems to disagree about this and I'm wondering if that is causing my penis to retract in ward and I also have erection problems for what it's worth

i am just hoping that I can cure this there physical therapy and I don't need both physical therapy and surgery and I have been going to a pelvic floor specialist since April so I don't know I'm a bit worried to say the least

I have read quite a lot of cases of hard flaccid on this forum but none of them seem to match my own symptoms and I am really curious as to what is going on in my specific case.

It all started around 2 months ago, I had pretty much no health problems at all and I went to work at my job (a very non physical job) and i randomly started feeling pain in my testicle. I did not think much of it even thought it lasted for the entire day because it was not that bad, however the next day i woke up and felt same pain through the entire day. I was getting quite worried and I checked myself in the mirror and noticed that it was not the same testicule hanging the lower. I thought i was most likely wrong because why would it be hanging lower right now for the first time? ( I did not know about varicocele yet). The third or fourth day, I began to notice something in my ballsack that wasnt there so I was nearly panicking thinking I had a tumor or somehing. After doing some research I found out it was most likely a varicocele since it feels like a bag of worms and i can feelt the different veins together and when i lay down it disapears. I found out I could use an embolization to cure it and that it should turn out fine so I got an appointement for my doctor just to check it out and hear his opinion (I still did not see him but the appointement is very soon).

Now 1 or 2 weeks later, i began feeling that my dick was harder flaccid. At this point I was thinking it was my imagination, but when I looked it up I found you guys and now i notice that my penis is much harder than normal when in flaccid state. What is weird now is that I did not get any injury whatsoever I do not do any penis exercices and so on, but I still manage to get a varicocele and hard flaccid syndrome.

I am a pretty relaxed person, I am not stressed in general but I am not very active. I am 5, 7foot tall and weight 150 lbs, does anyone know what is actually hapenning? Even now that I know about my condition I still remain very calm and unstressed and I am far from depression. Thank you for you answers!

Edit: I recently stoped masturbating and its been 6 days since the last time, I do CPPS stretches every day since 3 days an I plan on continuing for a long time, I try to eat healtier food and avoid too much salt, etc.
