I hope that "creep" doesn't know this manly tip, if he thinks I'm a creep and I think he's a creep we'll both be waiting an awfully long time for the "creep" to leave first haha

That killed me! LMAO!

TThe handshake post got me! I have never had someone try an upside down handshake. I would laugh at the person who tired it. You would not get far around here doing that.

Also due to an arm injury my palm faces upwards slightly when i shake hands. I never felt this put me in a submissive position. Actually i feel the exact opposite. To me it is a battle scar from supporting my family and i am proud of my limited disability. That was good advice anyways.

Being a man has nothing to do with shaking hands. It has nothing to do with how you dress or your table manners. Well sort of it does....

Being a man is giving respect to people that demand and deserve respect. Not treating some punk ass kid like an equal. It is demanding respect by being true to your word. This means when you work you do the job. You work hard. I have always said an honest day work for an honest day pay.

Being a man is taking responsibility. Its being a single dad of 3 because mom would rather party. It is sacrificing being single and being a player. It is not getting laid because your busy being dad.

Maybe Im way off on what a man is but where Im from a man is only as good as his word.

When we leave this world, we should leave it with gifts for the seventh generation hence. (American Indian belief)

I don't get why women tend to get offended when I say some generalised things. Like "What do you mean you don't know cooking? You're a woman." Or "Come on, you should know about raising babies."
If a woman told me "You should know about fixing things! You're a man, you testosterone filled nut scratching bastard" ... I would gladly do a fixing degree.

Because they like to think they're one of a kind and very different from any other women which of course for the most part isn't true. I would say my tip for being a man is find out what makes 'you' feel like a man and fuck what everyone else says cause most people don't know sh*t.

Women are just like men; they want to be thought of individuals which they are. If a man has to find out what makes "him", implying indiviuality, a man, why are not women afforded the same luxury!

They are most of them simply choose not to use that luxury. You hear women talk a lot about what a real man is. But for a man to talk about what a real woman is well that's just sexist.

When women talk about what a real man they usuually talk about qualities; nice guy, good sense of humor, caring, responsible, things that separate humans from animals. When guys tend to talk about what a real woman is it always boils down to shallow characteristics; good cook, good in bed. Hey we all know the perfect woman is three foot tall, has a flat head, and no teeth! ( just love resting my beer on the flat head)

The term nice guy is it's own category really it isn't what most people think it is. Wealth, looks, charm, charisma, status are often parts of the women's definition of "nice guy" but you'll rarely hear that.

Yup that's what all the women think of me! Great description; I couldn't have done it better myself!

Mind. Outside of mine and inside of yours.
You know what Bad Boys and Nice Guys have in common? Neither of them are Men.

BOOM! Debate won. Winner? Snitch. Prize? 3 packets of Ketchup and a pair of loaded dice. (Only thing in Cusp's wallet. Not sure how he fit the dice in there or why he carries around Ketchup.)

IMO, I'd have to go with learning the concept of "service to all". It's easy to be selfish, and it's good to serve others from the heart; but if you get yourself right first (and intent here is KEY), you'll be better able to serve others- which helps you better serve yourself- creating a loop of ever-increasing growth for all concerned. Most all of the positive things (again intent is key here) being discussed on this forum can to some degree be subsumed into this philosophy :)

This thread is titled "Manly Arts" and women also benefit from this mode of thinking too, but men as a whole can definitely benefit from this concept in a much needed way. It would probably go a long way towards fixing a lot of the evils of the world caused by egocentric actions.

Protip: wear gloves when welding.....

I know it's not an art, but mostly guys do it. It's pretty manly being in EM radiation, poisunous vapors and dust. And fry a piece of meat with electrode!
I don't know how I lived this long either....

If you live in the West, make sure you know the basic How-Tos of a car:
Change a tire
Check/fill the fluids
Push start
Jump start
and for God's sake, when you need to, go ahead and ask for directions.

Yarr!
