I'm also noticing something weird - the only messages appearing in my inbox are those dating back almost exactly one year ago! Everything happens to be set back or something.
Also there are delays, like me going on my own profile, and it sais currently I am "private messaging", when obviously I am not.

Though it seems to be working for new messages, I'd recommend anyone having this problem not use the PM system until it is resolved.
