Rep Points

Do your rep points go down if you get a positive rep point from a new member with negative rep points? I was at 836, got a positive rep from a noob with a red square, and now i'm at 835.

I'm not upset at all about one rep point LOL. I was just curious if that's how it worked. I knew that more experienced members give and take away more reps than newer members but that's it.

Does anyone know if what happened is normal?

That is interesting ..i have no idea what the answer is to your questions but it is interesting.
i would have thought that a neg point person giving a positive points would give a 0 point hit. not a negative one.

Well willo earlier tonight did an excellent post and within 10 minutes he went from one or two red blobs to four green blobs. So if it was him who repped you while he was in the red then you were a bit unlucky (lol).

By the way, does anyone know what we can do with those points? I mean can we trade them in for frequent flyer miles or maybe get enough to get a toaster?

Hey guys, don't forget to use those rep points if you see a good post. You don't just get them from a moderator; do them yourself. I'm sure you know how to do it ( you know that white thingy next to the green circle under the posters avatar). There are alot of you guys out there that make great posts so give them a green thingy as a compliment. You can check your number of points by clicking on your account and then clicking on cp's. You'll find who gave you a green thingy and what their comment was. Some of the comments are great. You in turn can write the guy back that gave you the point to thank him or one day I'll just try to organize one big group hug. One thing you can't do is give a rep point to yourself; trust me I tried it many of times. So reward your fellow member when they come up with a good post. It happens quite alot around here. To those members who gave me a point or two, you know I thank you and before too long it will either be cookies or the group hug whichever you prefer!

Yeah but it's alright, a rep from CUSP got me to 998

LOL just a guess. But it is quite bizarre cos if he had repped you about 20 minutes later you would've got quite a few points from him.

I lost another point from a positive rep! LOL I went from 1036 to 1035 so maybe that's just what happens when a noob gives you a good rep.
