There was a time when this forum (when it was PEGym) didn't permit political discussions. As this is a forum where the goal is both self-improvement and mutual aid, such topics were discouraged due to the possibility of it creating discord among members.
Some time ago, it was decided to "loosen the reins" and see if political discussions could be had while maintaining decorum. Unfortunately, this appears to have been an idea which was good in theory but not in practice.
Due to the many complaints from members and sponsors, we decided to create a sub-forum where politics and other potentially divisive topics could be discussed. That being said, we ask anyone posting here to remember the objective of this forum and to abide by the rules- specifically the MOST IMPORTANT RULE - Be respectful to one another!
Also outlined under rule #4 of the site policy is:
"Freedom of speech is our motto, but don't abuse it! AGAIN - Treat others with respect, keep your posts clean, avoid porn, don't act like an idiot, and be friendly to others. If you follow these guidelines, you'll do well here!"
