Hi everyone, been lurking the forums for the past few weeks and figured that I may aswell register and ask a few questions. :) Not so much on the physical aspect of PE, but more on the psychological side of things. Hopefully I can find someone who can relate to me on my problems.

I'm just another one of the many men who's suffering from this awful problem. I do have a healthy love life when it comes to getting with women, my only issue is actually doing the deed itself. I can last for a pretty long time when it comes to foreplay (after a few beers!), however, actually having sex is a huge psychological issue to me. My first sexual experience was spectacularly bad, cumming before entry - and since then i've became so worked up with the whole thing, that I repeat the same mistake over and over again. Unfortunately, I've now gotten to the point where I tend to avoid sex altogether. It's all a bit depressing, really!

How do you guys deal with it mentally? The thing is, I think my issue is almost hard wired into my brain now. I tend to get worked up too quick, leading to me blowing my load way too soon. :(

I suppose being open about it with a partner would have a good effect, although it's just so hard to talk about!

In your personal experiences, would you normally tell your partner (even one night stands) about your issue - before having sex? I haven't ever really had the guts to tell anyone about it, and afterwards I definitely look like a bit of a fool. :D - It all seems like going around in a vicious circle really...

Edit: - I was also wondering, has anyone ever overcome PE (Psychologically) through using viagra? I can imagine it would give you a bit of a confidence boost?

Cheers in advance for any input. :)

Yeah i've considered buying some. Although i'm not sure of how effective dapoxetine is, really wanna be sure that it's the way forward - considering the price range for just 3-4 tablets.

How old are you?
21.

Oh the disease of the young. Trust me you'll grow out of it soon if you stop thinking about it. Also eat pineapple!

Which head? ;)

Well, I think it is 'all in your head' ... but that's a really broad statement. Your penis and testicles don't decide to ejaculate on their own. When you say 'in your head' though, you probably mean under conscious control. My take is that it would be partially under conscious, partially subconscious. So tackling it can involve making changes to subconscious, changes to conscious and also moving some things from subconscious to conscious.

For examples of each:
- changing subconscious - edging/ballooning without ejaculation using high intensity stimulation breaks the automatic response to high stimulation.
- changing conscious - thinking positively, focusing on what you want, being aware of arousal level, making conscious decisions around that, relaxing
- moving from subconscious to conscious - conscious control of breath, conscious relaxation of pelvic floor muscles, etc.

I didn't believe it at first, but positive statements help a lot with reprogramming your subconscious. Picturing positive issues is key for your inner self to believe in your capacities to succeed.

Trust me, more guys suffer from this than you know about. The first time I was with a girl, I didn't last 10 seconds. Edging is a great way to learn to last longer before hitting your point of no return. Also, doing kegels can help you hold it back. Another thing I did when I was really self conscious about it but still wanted sex was go buy condoms that have a little numbing agent in it. I lasted much longer, but if you buy some I suggest you wipe most of it out or you'll either go limp or won't feel a thing.
