I purchased a new pump recently because I have been having two issues with my Hydromax Xtreme pump (I can no longer get the hand pump tube to attach to the top of the pump any longer; the o-ring is up next the top of the opening and it no longer depresses, and at my wife's request I have been keeping the areas of my pubic hair that I don't shave off very long at about two years of growth now and the pump no longer seals tight to my body.)
So I recently read some positive reviews and ended up purchasing the Max Boost Pro Flow pump model from Pipedream Products. So far I am really impressed with the pump, although it does have a few quirky details.
This model can be used in the shower and submerged underwater; rated for a set period of time submerged. It has several suction levels, and several pre-programmed pumping routines; pump one second - release one second, pump two seconds - release two seconds, etc... You can use any of the suction levels during any of the programs. It also has the basics of pump on continuously at what ever suction level you choose.
Some notes:
- It has a sealed rechargable battery.
- It can be used wet (shower/bath/etc) filled with water, or dry use.
- It has a donut-shaped silicon end with a small hole for insertion that seals around the bottom of the shaft. This detail allows use with longer pubic hair styles.
- It is not the quietest pump. The noise level is fine in the shower, but it is not as quiet as my wife and I would like it to be when we are using it in bed during foreplay.
- The is no automatic-off switch or air release button/switch. To stop the pump you need to hold the on/off button for 2-3 seconds. To remove the pump you have to break the seal with your body around the silicone donut.
- When the pump is in use and filled with water there is a pinhole-sized opening at the top of the pump that periodically squirts water to release pressure inside.
- It does not have a shower strap, but I have rigged up my Hydromax shower strap to wrap around the pump when I use it in the shower.
- Pump is available in two colors, white or blue.
- I purchased mine on sale. There are several websites that carry the Pipedream products.
Pipedream makes several pumps with similar names. I believe the Max Boost Pro Flow is the only one that can be used in/with water.
