Reunited with his dear wife Holly.
Hey SW_CO, glad to have you aboard.
My Grandson recently graduated from reactor school in South Carolina, and will be assigned to a sub.

Had the Honour of serving in one of the Best Defence Forces in the world.

Best webbing, MRV and longest ranging Artillery.

Yep, I served for almost 15 years in the SADF.

This is how you debuss a MRV (Buffel)

Not trying to piss anyone off, just proud of my service and the people I had the honour of serving with.

Hey MoneyShots. Did you respond to the poll?
I was in the 82nd Airborne. What unit you with? (if you can say)

JP,

Im in the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade. Thought about transferring over to the 82nd after I take advantage of the opportunities being presented to me in my current unit.

USAF 85-92. Resigned as O3. Best years of my life. I would have stayed longer but a year group bubble forced me out, since my AFSC was not mission critical. Now I work as a beltway bandit. Haha.

*I wonder why no PE group yet exists for Military active duty, or otherwise. I'd be happy to start it.*

Navy E-3 grunt straight out of high school from Nov. 2009-2013. Did get my SW pin a few months before my contract was up even though it wasn't a priority of mine, because my 1st classes and chief got on my case about it. Initially was in training as a nuke, went to the same school in Charleston.

Wanted to join the service to pay for college. No heroism here. Scored really high on the ASVAB and the Navy hooked me with their nuclear program's $23k enlistment bonus. It really wasn't my cup of tea, but I was young and dumb then. Still young, slightly less dumb now.

Anyway, you should be really proud of your grandson, JP, that place is no joke, it's the hardest school in the Navy. 14-16 hours a day studying is my idea of hell. Had a guy in another class who hung himself while I was there.

What's going on guys, I served in the USMC for 3 years and 4 months.

If that amount of time seems odd to you, it's because the Marines (maybe other branches too?) have recently offered an early-out option with full benefits provided that you've got 3 years under your belt.

Spent time in South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Arizona (by the Mexican border), and Okinawa, Japan. Definitely the best years of my life and it's awesome to know that we got other vets pursuing PE.

Did my national service. 6 months in Finnish army as a combat engineer. The best time of my life. I would love to work as a soldier, but it's very limited and hard here. Now I've sent application to become UN peacekeeper, let's hope the best.

14 years active in the Marines. 96 to 10. Mostly out of Lejeune. But spent some time on the wrong coast. Started out as a 0331 then obviously 0369 and eventually 0321 before I got hurt and had to get out.

Seems like a lifetime ago now even though I reference it far too often.
