That's why when I dated, I NEVER spent $65 bones on dinner off the bat unless I KNEW she was into me. First date is a coffee date then if things progress and get better, I'll ask out for dinner but no $65 dinner. A drink or two at the local watering hole is an even better idea.

You could have taught me a lot back in the day. I would often spend money and get the your such a nice guy I want to be friends thing.
Finally I went the coffee route so that I only went down $5 instead of $100, still got insulted, but at least it's cheaper.

That's exactly my point. I got that whole "you're such a sweet guy" bullshit line numerous times. It used to be that when my buddy's were treating their girlfriends like sh*t, they'd go to me for my "Dr. Phil" advice. Yet, they'd go home and fuck my buddy and not me. Soooooooooo, I completely turned off my "Dr. Phil" advice column and my life has been very comfortable every since.
