L-Arginine is a popular supplement mentioned throughout this forum, so I thought I'd create a thread for people to discuss their experiences with it in general life and sexual experiences, as well as how much you tend to take :)

I am a diabetic and have developed a fairly severe case of ED. After Viagra and injections became ineffective, I now need to resort to pumping and constriction in order to generate and maintain errections. To aid in the process, I take 5 gr. of l-arginine about three hours in advance which provides me with a semi making it easier to pump up into a full and harder erection.

I'm wondering how much people take regularly. I will take 3-4 grams somedays, other days 1 or 2 grams. Its my understanding its like a drug, where you build a tolerance? Or am I mistaken here.

I have been taking l-arginine for about five years and it continues to be as effective today as it was five years ago. I have read that it needs to be cycled (take a month off now and then) in order to remain effective. I don't consciously cycle it but circumstances sometimes requires me to lay off for a few weeks now and then

I'm recovering from a pretty intense hard flaccid I've had for the past few years, but on the days I had a freer-hanging penis after stretching or such, coupled with taking L-Arginine, I would have a pretty huge hang. I haven't taken L-Arginine on a super-consistent basis though, 3-4 times a week for the past 3 months.

Helps 8ncrease blood flow and utilization of Nitros Oxide. So can help with erections. Some have real problems from thier blood pressure going too low.

I just started taking it last week and after two days, I was getting erections all the time lol

I did it to experiment with the holy grail of cum load stack, so naturally, I had to relieve myself as soon as I got home. Low and behold, my penis was fully hard and atleast LOOKED bigger than usual. Almost cartoonish in size. I had my usual mega load from the stack, but with L-arginine it shot much farther than usual. Definitely noticed a difference

L-Arginine is the primary ingredient in the Sports supplements called Nitric Oxide boosters, not to be confused (or mislead by advertising agencies) as NO2 which is Nitrogen Dioxide, which is a poisonous gas. In sports it's believed to act as a Nitric Oxide booster within your blood serum levels and therefor acts as a muscle builder akin to certain anabolic steroids. So part of that is correct and part completely falsified to get you to spend your cash. What L-Arginine is, is an increaser in your Nitric Oxide levels in your blood and thereby acts as a volumizer or blood vessel dilater (increases blood flow).

Can this be good in sports? Totally (but it's not going to build lean body mass). Can it be equally good with PE and erectile difficulties? Totally! It should be noted that Viagra and Cialis also happens to be in the same family of medications that increase your Nitric Oxide levels.

That said, all of these will lower your blood pressure and I've read of people taking L-arginine with Viagra/Cialis, I would not recommend it as taking both could lower your overall blood pressure to a dangerous level.

Personally, I've been thinking of cycling L-Arginine or L-Citrulline 20-30 mins before PE.

Oh oh and why L-Citrulline instead? Because L-Citrulline is converted to L-Arginine and actually produces more L-Arginine for a longer duration in the body. I'd write more on this but my iPad battery is dying...

I take 2 tablets daily to keep my veins elastic and open. It also makes my member thicker. L'Arginine also builds muscle, as it improves blood flow to the muscles. Had a TIA stroke 3 years ago, but no problems since using L'Arginine regularly.

Not to start an argument here, but L-Arginine does not "build muscle". Stating a claim like that would be the same as saying it's in the same family as class 1 and 2 anabolics. Yes it increases blood flow holistically, but if you're wanting to "build muscle" then you would use L-Arginine to improve the blood blow to allow other chemicals in that do just that.

I'd hate to see young kids buying L-Arginine thinking it's going to get them "jacked" because people think it builds muscle...

Have you tried citrulline malate? I have taken both and it sure tastes WAY better.

I have read that citrulline malate does same things way better than L-arginine. So I use citrulline malate.

You can also gain L-Arginine from food: pumpkin seeds, brazil, almond and walnuts, spirulina, chicken and beef liver, fish, sesame seeds, dairy products, eggs etc.

L-arginine can increase your HGH by a lot if taken before bed. It also helps some sleep better.

However larger doses 6+ grams can have huge benefits in EQ and ejaculation volume but can also mess up your digestion and cause diarrhea (talking from experience).

L-arginine is recommended to take on an empty stomach but if digestion problems occur it can be taken with carbs like oatmeal or fruit. However taking L-arginine with protein hugely decreases its effects.

L-arginine seems to work better if taken together with L-ornithine and is also sold as a mixture. An even stronger combination is L-arginine + pycnogenol.

However a less problematic and effective supplement to L-arginine is L-citrulline which is arginines precursor.


The main problem I have with L-arginine is its horrible, HORRIBLE taste. It's easily the worst taste I've ever known. REALLY it IS BAD. I cringe just thinking of it :puke:

It is very basic and when wet smells like catpiss.

The taste is also why I prefer L-citrulline to L-arginine it's like comparing lemon juice to cat piss.

However if taken together citrulline and arginine will cancel out each others tastes, usually leaving a small trace of acidity from the l-citrulline. This mixture is also very effective at improving EQ and load size.

I started taking 6000mg of l-arginine routinely and have noticed a nice difference in hardness. I have been taking capsules, but the ones I have now are 500mg each, so that’s a lot of capsules to take. Any advantages using the powder? I know the disadvantage would be the taste :D

Where can I get a good source of L-arginine or citrulline in supplement form? I see there are so many different brands all claiming this or that, but I don't know which ones are the real deals and which ones are just placebo crap.

Any help here? And would it be best to get them in capsule form? Please send a link to the real deal stuff. So this stuff works sort of like Caelis? Except without the dependency or is that another slippery slope?
