Hi guys! About 2-3 weeks ago I decided to do some kegels and reverse kegels while I sat around at the workplace. I really wasnt super serious about it, but one day I did actually do about ten minutes of them, switching between regular and reverse intermittently. I'd do 10-20 seconds of each, with a 5 second stop in between. Anyway, after this, my EQ went way, way down, and the actual muscular sensation from getting an erection went way down, and at first I wasnt even really having any response down there to almost any kind of female attraction. I haven't done any kegels of any kind since then, except a couple of times that I inadvertently flexed my PC muscle, after which things got even less active. Very gradually over 2-3 weeks I have had a return of certain sensation but the ability to feel a distinct flex in the PC muscle has still not returned. I'm not in a panic or especially worried about it, however I'd like to know a few things, that being has anyone here experienced this, how long was it before full function returned, do you have recurring problems from this (thus far, I have had very very little pain), and what would be defined as rest? What sort of activities could accelerate the condition? Im not one who makes plans to masturbate and generally avoid it, but what would happen if I did for some reason? Should I be especially watchful to not do that considering this situation? I tried to test and see if things were in working order again a few times, and it seems about halfway there. But I still can't feel much sensation at all in my PC muscle. Anyway, thanks for any response!

Listen carefully.

1) hot baths. Apply hot water in the pelvic area a few seconds.

2) rest your dick and dont masurbate for 1 month ( when you ejaculate the pelvic muscles get very tires. So let them rest.

3) drink alot of water 8 glasses per day

4) when you are done with resting wait 2 more weeks and start a very light kegel/RK routine.

Those muscles can heal just take care of them.

Hurt myself kegeling

Hurt myself kegeling

Been a month. Used to have sexual sensation from thoughts, and be able to produce and maintain a full erections just from muscular flexing. Now even prolonged erections seem to severely reduce the function of this. Haven't really rested it properly at all. Seems to be fluctuating between better and then back to not so great again. Anyone got any experience with this? How long does this typically take to recover? Any tips or ways to speed this up?

Did 10-20 second level holds, then switched to reverse levels, then rest five seconds, then repeat. After I did this, I barely could get an erection. Then all sexual sensation from arousal reduced massively. Any idea what is going on? Like I said, haven't properly rested it for the month since. Even having a strong erection seems to weaken it for a good while. Is this at all psychological? I think I injured my PC muscle because I didn't expect an injury. It just happened.

What about letting it rest and recover? of course together with proper nutrition.

Do you have any specific symptoms- like spasming, pain, and/or premature ejaculation? Have you consulted with a medical professional?

Help!

Help!

Five weeks ago, I injured my PC muscle as the result of kegel/rev.Kegel exercises. It was recovering, and I had gone a week without any sexual arousal to speak of but tonight was very aroused and was experiencing a partial restoration of EQ but my PC muscle seemed exhausted. However, later tonight, when I took a dump, for some reason nothing wanted to come out, so I pushed *really* hard for about ten seconds and realized it could have been a PC/BC issue and that I could have really hurt it doing that pushing like that. Does anyone know anything about this? Any advice? Does a weak PC/BC stimulate constipation? Why is this SO long in recovery and why does it keep getting messed up??

Stop with the pushing for a bowel movement. This may prolong healing/recovery, cause of it 'getting messed up'.
A laxative, using stool softeners, drink more water, eat more vegetables. Less cheese.

I've merged all 3 of your threads. No need to make a separate thread for the same subject. :thumb:

The pelvic floor is very actively used during elimination. Straining when defecating when one already has PF problems is one of the reasons these men don't heal.

Thanks for merging the threads. It's been five and a half weeks now since the injury. I've noticed it improving gradually to where I am able to get sexual arousal from thoughts alone once again, but then today I got aroused for a few minutes and now it's as if it just started all over again. I'm drinking water, only strained a couple times for a few seconds during a B.M., and have been trying to avoid arousal as much as possible, although I did have problems succumbing to masturbation during the first few weeks, and finally cut that back out. Have only had a masturbation incident once in about ten days, and trying to reduce it even further. Am I doing something wrong? I may seem anxious about this, but it's such a medically ignorant area, and I don't want to go to the doctor, especially since they probably don't know much about it anyway. Just would like to know if this kind of delayed healing is a common occurrence. I suppose it probably is. To Big Al, to my knowledge I'm not having spasms, pain is almost none at all, except very rare prick of mild pain like every few days for a second. PE issues, I really don't know, because I've been avoiding masturbation for about ten days and am currently single. The few times that I did masturbate, it did seem especially weak, and a bit premature. But I generally avoid masturbation, so I don't document it especially. The biggest problem I have is that it seems PC muscle seems very easily fatigued and the sexual sensation in the groin fades away. The sensation in the actual penis unchanged, and I can still get an erection with enough incitement. Hope these details can help you understand this issue more. And thanks for your concern.

I was aware that I could injury myself before beginning the Kegel routine, and so I took it slow and careful. Somehow I still injured it, apparently because I was supposed to be doing wall-squats and all that jazz before I started doing Kegels. What I' concerned about now, is since I didn't properly rest this injury when it occurred, and actually masturbated multiple times in the following weeks (partly out of anxiety to see if it was still functioning properly), did I do something to excacerbate this injury to the point of some kind of a permanent injury? Or is a "permanent" injury to the PC a sort of myth? I see these horror stories by these guys on the forums and have to think they're trolls, but still it concerns me a little bit, since my recovery has been so slow and so delayed. I tore the ligaments and tendons and nerves in my arm the day before I injured my PC/BC, and apparently the severe injury to my arm has healed more rapidly than my groin. This is ridiculous. It seems like so many things offset the recovery time (constipation, arousal, mmasturbation, strain, etc.). Also, I'm now experiencing issues involving what feels like urine trapped in the urethra, which aparently according to the doctor responses to people with similar conditions on other websites, could indicate a urinary tract infection (although I tend to think there is some other explanation).

Mainly, I want to know if the delayed recovery is due to my lack of proper rest, and if this is a serious thing that could result in more complications, or if simply resting it more will be sure to recover it fully, and if this is typical for people to experience this delay in healing.

I suggest you see a physio who does pelvic floor work.

Gentlemen, I'm in a financial strait at the moment, and can't really afford to visit a physiotherapist. This could change soon, but I'm not sure yet. As of now, I've had this injury for almost six weeks. For roughly two weeks, I've avoided masturbation except for one brief incident, and also I've only gotten worked up and sexually aroused a couple times. However, it seems like this injury is continuing to remain roughly the same (although I could be underestimating the recovery. The main thing that concerns me is:

If the muscle is recovering, and things are going well on the road to recovery, why does it seem exhausted after the slightest activity, and why does the sexual signals in the groin remain so faint? Is this normal?

I'm currently not as worried about it as I once was. Could anyone give me some reassuring input from your own experiences? The thought that keeps coming to my mind is that I've permanently interfered with the healing process, and that even though I've largely treated it well for a couple weeks, things will never be the same. I'm persuaded that this thought is just an irrational idea and am ignoring it and focusing instead on the recovery - I personally don't believe that idea at all. However, if someone could give me some more details or in-depth evaluation of my particular situation, I'd appreciate it a ton. I recently injured my arm and was very concerned it was broken, until I went to the doctor and he just told me it was a long-healing severe sprain and ligament injury. Once I realized it wasn't broken, the thought that it was broken didn't come to my mind again at all. I'm hoping perhaps someone can shed some light on this PC/BC injury (whatever it is), that would explain that things will definitely return to normal and why. If not, I'll be OK. Just curious if anyone can help me out to know what's going on and why this is recovering so slowly. Thank you very much and may you have a blessed day!

The difficulty in dealing with PF problems is that the area in question is frequently used for many bodily functions. If the PF is strained, then these necessary functions still can't be avoided- and it delays healing. One other thing you can do is to ensure you don't strain when you use the restroom. A near full squat when using the toilet, and no forcing your urine out when you need to urinate should help to minimize the impact.

Thanks a lot for the tip, Al. Can you tell me, How serious of a setback is sexual arousal or masturbation?

Thanks a lot for the tip, Al.

You're welcome :)

Can you tell me, How serious of a setback is sexual arousal or masturbation?

That depends on the severity of the problem. If said activity causes your PF to start acting up then it will interfere with your recovery.

Thanks again. Is this damage unlikely to be permanent though, in any event? Are these PF-horror stories on the forums real? Where people suffer these permanent life-long injuries? Or are these trolls? Because it doesn't seem to make sense that the PF would just "not heal," even over a long period of time, if you allowed it to recover properly.

I fell back on my discipline and masturbated today in a compulsive moment. My PF seems to be a little sore, and the sexual sensation seems to be weaker and reduced, but I'm not suffering any acute pain or anything like that. In fact, I've experienced no acute pain to speak of at any point during this entire ordeal. All I've experienced are little twinges, slight pricks of pain here and there, just mainly a loss of erection quality and sexual sensation, particularly in the groin area. I never realized how much of the sexual experience comes from the groin. Does my case sound like a mild one, really? If it was serious, wouldn't I be experiencing a dramatic amount more of pain? And if I set myself back, does it begin all the way at ground-zero again, or just delay the progress already made? I'm not brutalizing my pelvis or anything, and don't intend to take up masturbating regularly regardless, but I've never had an injury like this before, and Have no idea what to expect in terms of recovery. In fact, I've had next to no injuries in my life, and know very little about recovery and how it works. The muscle seems very weak, and gets weak with activity, but still doesn't seem to experience pain. To me that seems to indicate the injury isn't severe, just that I haven't properly let it heal consistently?

Unfortunately the nature of your questions really can't be answered by anyone here unless they know specifics, and for that it would be best if you consulted with a professional in person if you suspect your issue to be anything more than minor.

What are the specific details of information you'd need to know so that you could make an estimation?
