Just recently started to nail his presidential coffin together.So...Donald Trump the next President?
So...Donald Trump the next President?
I thought he was a very nice guy actually...talks a lot of sense!![]()
I think Joe Pesci should be president. I mean why not?
So...you're not that keen on him then Jock?
CORRECT! My choice is MARK RUBIO, not because of his politics so much, as just a "political strategy" to defeat Hillary Clinton.
CORRECT! You've gotten me in a "political mood" here Tamora, (which is kinda interesting, since you're "across the POND"). So I'll espouse what I believe is the ONLY HOPE among the republicans to win the election from the current field of primary candidates. My choice is MARK RUBIO, not because of his politics so much, as just a "political strategy" to defeat Hillary Clinton! He's the ONLY republican candidate that can win...here's why...Democrats & Liberals will ALL vote for Hillary, every single one of them! The republicans ONLY chance is to coalesce behind an electable candidate, solidify the majoeity of the Latino vote (away from Hillary, whom they would likely vote for, otherwise) and as a moderate, Rubio can hold together the republicans in yet another "hold you nose & vote" election, much like GW Bush (aka "the shrub") did against"SPOTTED" AL Gore. Rubio could defeat Hillary in a "squeeker", like happened in 2000, possibly. He's the ONLY one that can, IMO. Just a "strategy" to win for the republicans. Not sure the US can survive another con job from the Clintons yet again, after the financial decline we've suffered from 16 consecutive years of "the shrub" followed by Obama's socialist agenda. The US is at a pivital and fragile point in time, I believe. This election may very well determine the future of our country as a democratic leader of the free world. Hillary will do everything she can to destroy that, BELIEVE ME! She, not unlike Trump, is "ALL ABOUT ME AND EGO AND POWER",,,SUPER LIBERAL POWER!! The LAST thing we need right now, IMO.
The only problem I see with that strategy, George W. Bush brought us Obama thru his political blunders his last four years more or less giving Democrats in Congress everything they wanted in the economic bailout in 2008. Bush was a RINO who could talk a good game to his more conservative base and then essentially do nothing they elected him to do. Rubio is a bit more conservative than Bush but I have a huge problem with his border policies. To me, that's one of our biggest national security issues and will ultimately bite us in the rear if we don't secure our southern border. The other biggie is Obamacare. That's a disaster in the process of happening. Being penalized by the IRS for not having health insurance flies in the face of liberty. Being forced to buy something you may not want is not freedom. That's tyranny! Some of the greatest English speaking documents applauding the virtues of Liberty were the Magna Carta, the US Declaration of Independence, and our Bill of Rights.
I can go on and on....the US History instructor in me gets fired up easily. LOL
OK, one last part of my Rubio strategy I didn't mention, and then I'll get off my soapbox. Rubio is from Florida, a KEY state for electoral college votes. If Rubio wins Texas, Florida & California (by solidifying the Latino vote in those HUGE population states) along with picking up the standard red states the repubs usually win, he can overcome Hillary's electoral votes out of the liberal NE. The South and western states are largely all red in national elections, the midwest could be split somewhat, and the NE is ALWAYS solid Blue. Rubio can win, and ONLY RUBIO can win for the Repubs, IMO, purely based on his ethnicity, not on his politics necessarily.
I hear what you're saying....to follow this to its logical conclusion you could almost make the same case for Ted Cruz, who is also of Cuban descent. He's way more conservative to borderline Libertarian. In the Latino community I think he would play just as well as Rubio would. The big factor we're leaving out of this is the media. The liberal wing will be all gung ho for Hillary no matter what. Whoever the Republicans pick will be vilified. They may as well pick someone who can stand their ground and not back off. At least Trump is showing the Republicans how to do it. He speaks his mind and he survived. The candidates need to tear a page from Trumps playbook and refine it somewhat.
... The other biggie is Obamacare. That's a disaster in the process of happening...
I think the scary candidate is Bernie Sanders though. I think he's not exactly what people are used to and his poll numbers are going way up.
I am a moderate. Socially more liberal, and fiscally a little more conservative. The more I learn about how economies nose dive, the more progressive I become actually (regulation, public works, etc.).
That said, I don't see any reason for me to EVER vote for Hillary. She seems to wishy-washy and politically treacherous. I mean, she probably has the right mindset for the whitehouse, since she's had to view that crap all before, but at the same time, I just don't feel like there's anything she can be trusted it with. Not sexist, but she seems, like most politicians, to be masters of opportunity. She's an opportunist... most of what she says and does feels artificial.
She, being secretary of state though, has HUGE clout with world leaders since she was the one making the moves internationally, so there's a level a familiarity between she and the rest of the world.
Honestly, I'm torn, but I'm leaning way more toward Bernie Sanders. His ideas, if historically reviewed, have been shown to bring this country back out of depressions and recessions and keep them from going back into them.
