Simple answer no lecture needed. They had the law, he fulfilled the law, we have forgiveness by grace, Thank God.

Have I ever given a simple answer to anything? Well here's a simple answer-no!

I'm just going to go and sit in the atheist corner and wait for this part of the thread to be over.

No you can't be an atheist; they have no one to talk to during sex!

At this point I am WISHING I had learned when not to JUST TALK as a younger person. My parents told me this would happen, but I was too busy talking to listen.

If you go by the theory that we are our own gods, in that we are responsible to ourselves for the consequences of our actions and create our own rewards and punishments for them, then I guess during sex you're talking to yourself ;)

Can't we just find some middle ground? So either a guy with a beard who sits in the clouds put us here, or we evolved from soup molecules? And if I don't believe the first one I burn in hell and if I don't believe the second one I"m a science denier? Option C, please!

Guys. Tell me. If you were orphaned young and were in foster care would you tell that to a woman you just started talking to!

Or is this a red flag!

Depends on how it came up. If you asked "What movie do you want to see?" and they then said that then most likely a red flag, but if it came up as part of a normal conversation with something like that as the topic then probably not.

It came up as me saying I'm close to my siblings We live near by etc. Then he said his family situation is completely different and he went on to disclose this info.
He didn't have to say a word about his family. But if he felt he needed to reciprocate then why not just say " My parents have passed on" and leave it at that. It's too soon too personal to tell me that IMO.

I'm stuck now. It was light hearted convo. Now it's stuff that's real and serious. I don't want to return a comment on it. I want to ignore it. Grr

I'm going to a big Magic: the Gathering tournament at the end of April and damn am I trying to get something good while not spending a ton of money, but man oh man was that urge to win from looking tournament reports from the past few weeks has made me want to buy more stuff and I was close to it. Good thing I stepped back and will be cancelling another almost $200 worth of cards and stuff.

Goal #1 - Survive the first 9 rounds and make it to day two.
Goal #2 - Get to top 64 (this is where you start to win money.)
Goal #3 - Top 16 (More money and people take notice.)
Goal #4 - Top 8 (Plenty of money and an invitation to another, slightly more important, tournament.)
Goal #5 - 1st place (I want that $5000.)

Even now I am nervous about the whole thing when I haven't gone to one this large. My normal game store can only have 50 people (or 75 if people suck their gut in) and this tournament will have hundreds of people and possibly one thousand people.

Gotta step back from all the ordering though, I won't be able to get a car or other things this year if I keep this up.

instead of looking at it as you being "light hearted", he may have taken it as you bragging in his face about your wonderful family life. Something that could be a painful memory for him, and he just wanted to let you know up front why he may not bounce around and be joyous of all your family stories...

I can't even imagine the pain he went through as a child, and seeing you gush about your friends and family might just bring up memories of the trauma he may have had to live through... Just be a little more sensitive, or chose someone else because you're going to get a negative reaction one of these days.
