Long story short, I am suffering from pulled muscle issues. When talking to the trainer, I said "Well, I'll just heat + stretch + ice later tonight"...however, he quickly pointed out that heating an injury within 72 hours of the injury is actually bad; it causes more blood to flow to the area, which makes it swell up more.

So with this in mind, should cold therapy be used on PE related injuries?

I think this is a 2 blade issue when it comes to PE.
If you make a rational correlation between body injuries and PE you would say: This must be it! but,
Here is a part of the articole above: "Applying heat draws blood to the skin under the heat source. This tends to increase internal bleeding or fluid exudate (swelling) in an immediate injury. Therefore heat is not appropriate in first-aid.

Heat is used later on to relieve muscle tension, promoting relaxation."
Now you would say again: This must be it.

They talk about first aid, what you should do in the first hours or first days when you injure a major muscle, ligament and/or bone.
Now I ask myself: How long last the period for first aid for smaller parts of the body? How can I exactly meassure the perfect time to use ICE? How can I know if the penis(muscle, cartilage, etc) will respond the same way as my injured shoulder ligaments?

So I haven't answerd the question. All I have done is that I raised explicit questions?
Maybe this time a urolog would have an answer?..

Reunited with his dear wife Holly.
I've found that a ligament injury to the penis, responds better to heat. A pulled muscle or joint injury, then yes, cold packs.

Did you fully recover from your ligament injury?
I've been reading that the damage is in many cases irreparable or partially reparable, I guess it depends on the severity of the tear/strain.
